Q. Obviously the match was a grind. Can you talk to me a little bit about it from your perspective?

ANNA DAVIS: Let's see, obviously lost the first three holes. But got it back. So I was pretty good. I was pretty proud of myself. But, yeah, it was kind of a grind like the entire match. Let's see, I don't know. She was playing well. I was just kind of like gave her a few holes. But it was definitely one of the more interesting matches I've ever had.

Q. Why is that?

ANNA DAVIS: I think we only tied like four holes out of 16. So I think that's, yeah, I think she won, she just -- we both just kept winning holes in a row. So, yeah, it was just very back and forth. More Gianna's direction back and forth, but, yeah, back and forth.

Q. Do you think like was it each of you kind of like just playing really well the holes that you won or was it mistakes?

ANNA DAVIS: The first three holes were just because I made three mistakes. I wasn't really warmed up yet. Then I made three birdies after that. So those are the three holes I won. Then I made a mistake. And then she made two birdies. So most of them were because we were making birdies.

Q. You guys played against each other at the Wyndham Cup last week?

ANNA DAVIS: We did, yes.

Q. Is there anything about the matchup? Do you think that she might have an upper hand or anything?

ANNA DAVIS: I don't think so. No. (Laughing.) I don't think so.

Q. But you guys are good friends. So what's the kind dynamic like on the course?

ANNA DAVIS: I think both of us, more on her, she's very serious. She's on a mission when she's golfing. So I don't think -- we're not like very, like, talkative or anything. But, yeah, we're both, when we're out there, we're both trying to win.

Q. If you say she's really serious, would you say you're a little less?

ANNA DAVIS: I'm a little, yeah, I'm a little less. I'm very chill, yeah. (Laughing.)

Q. Pretty mellow.

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah.

Q. What are some of your key takeaways overall from the week?

ANNA DAVIS: I don't know. Match play's very different than stroke play. But, yeah, I think, I don't know, anything can happen in match play. Whereas, it's a little different than stroke play. So, yeah.

Q. Do you think there's anything specifically you might have learned this week that moving forward in other match play events you can be, like, this is going to help me here?

ANNA DAVIS: I think with this match, being able to come back from 3-down like that so quickly. I mean, literally anything can happen in a span of seven holes. So, yeah, so just more don't give up when you're 3-down through 3 kind of thing.

Q. Moving forward, rest of the summer, what have you got?

ANNA DAVIS: Junior PGA. U.S. Amateur. And then like team events and stuff like that. Which are like more in the fall.

Q. How do you feel in terms of playing the stroke-play event versus the match-play event?

ANNA DAVIS: I prefer stroke play, personally. Because every stroke counts. So that's kind of like my thing. I'm very good at making pars. So in match play I think it's more, like the more favored person is the one who makes more birdies. So, yeah, I like stroke play. I mean, I never won a match play event, so.

Q. Well there's a first time for everything, right? U.S. Am?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah. Yeah.
