Kim Moore

Quick Quotes

Q. We're here with Kim Moore, our leader after two rounds. Can you talk us through your round today.

KIM MOORE: It definitely wasn't as planned. Kind of there on the back nine, I just wasn't feeling the greatest. It's really hot out here, and just I think I was starting to overheat. So the last nine was kind of a grind for sure.

You know, I'm glad I finished strong with a par, and I'm still leading, so that's always good.

But hopefully I can put together a better round tomorrow and stay a little more hydrated out there, I think.

Q. I know you still have 18 holes to go, but have you started to think about what being a champion of this event tomorrow would be if everything went your way?

KIM MOORE: Yeah, I think that's kind of natural. I think everybody was kind of thinking that, especially after our welcome banquet and just hearing the history behind everything that's gone into this, it would be an honor to be able to come away with that awesome trophy. Hopefully I can put my name on that, and I think it'll take another decent round, and we'll see how it goes.

Q. How is this experience thus far compared to other tournaments or events that you've played in the past?

KIM MOORE: I've been to many PGA events and Senior PGA events. I've been to some USGA events, and it's right up there with all the other USGA events, the way they treat the players, caddies, the way they're treating spectators and fans and all the volunteers here. It really makes it very special for all of us.

Yeah, it's been great. It's been a great experience so far.

Q. With a four-stroke lead going into tomorrow, where is your mindset? Where do you want to put yourself in the next 16 hours before you come back out here?

KIM MOORE: I'd like to kind of recuperate a little bit, get some energy back for sure. I'm sure we'll be playing tomorrow kind of later, as well. So just kind of learning from this experience, and hopefully not getting as bad as I was today. I'd like to shoot the best score I possibly can. Every time I go out there I want to do well, regardless of the field, regardless of the tournament I'm playing in. I want to play my best every time. That's what I expect.
