Q. We're here with Brian Bemis. What are your takeaways from this week?
BRIAN BEMIS: It's hot. Turn down the oven. No, the competition, the venue, the USGA has been just absolutely amazing to us, and this facility has been amazing. The experience has been -- to quote Spinal Tap, "This is an 11." This is awesome.
Q. How rewarding is it to share the course with so many athletes with inspiring stories like yours?
BRIAN BEMIS: Just unbelievable really. I got to play with Jake Olson yesterday, long snapper, USC, blind. Amazing. His story is just inspirational enough. To have -- I mean, basically a two-sport star, football and golf now. It was super fun to watch him play.
Then Luke today, 74? I was just trying to keep up with him. I outdrove him on two holes by about a foot, flexed the muscles a little bit.
Q. Had to let him know?
BRIAN BEMIS: Oh, yeah. Kids. What are you going to do.
Q. How do you think this championship will help amplify the adaptive communities and stories like yours?
BRIAN BEMIS: It's going to be tenfold to be honest with you. It's going to reach so many people, whether disability or non-disability. They're going to know somebody that's affected, whether amputation, mental, visual, whatever the case might be, and inspire them to go out and play. I think this is going to just in a sense set the world on fire as far as disabled golf.
Q. How does this compare to other events and championships you've played in in the past?
BRIAN BEMIS: This is unbelievable. When I got here, I took videos just panning to the players' tent, the scoring, the concessions, the driving range, seeing the USGA flags and like what you see when you're watching the LPGA or the men play in these championships. I mean, we felt like they do. It's unbelievable. Can't express into words how amazing this environment and this tournament has turned out.
