Quick Quotes

Q. Did you enjoyed today's practice?

SIMON LEE: It was very hot and hard to concentrate sometimes today, but for this tournament, I still practiced very hard, and I'm feeling good.

Q. Are you excited to play in the championship this week?

SIMON LEE: Seems like yesterday that I won the U.S. Adaptive Open. Coming here to defend at Pinehurst, I'm nervous but also excited. There were a lot of people who recognized me, and that cheered me up a lot, and I'd like to successfully defend any position and also get the title of first successful defense on U.S. Adaptive Open.

Q. What is your favorite club to use?

SIMON LEE: It's the driver. My favorite club is the driver because that's the one I'm most confident about using. It's the one where my shots go very far and straight, so that's my favorite club to use.

Q. Do you have a favorite golfer?

SIMON LEE: My favorite player is Eun Shin Park from the Korean Tour, and it's because he doesn't really feel uncomfortable with me even though I'm on the spectrum. He's always so kind to me and always gives me a lot of advice about how to play golf and helps me during practice, so he's my favorite.

Q. What are your aspirations or dreams as a golfer?

SIMON LEE: After winning the U.S. Adaptive Open last year, I realized my potential and that I'm capable of achieving victory. With this confidence I've qualified for the 2023 Korean Tour qualifying school, final stage, and got the Tour QT number for the first time.

This way I was able to participate in the Korean Tour and pass the tryouts to make the best personal record this year, and my dream is to some day play in the U.S. Open, just as I have won in the U.S. Adaptive Open, and playing in the U.S. Open representing my adaptive community would be a dream of mine.
