Q. Anton Glass, 2-under, tied for third. Can you walk us through your round?
ANTON GLASS: I think it was 1-under. But it was a fun day out there. A little bit of weather out there. But nothing too challenging. Just tried to put the ball in play. It's a relatively short course.
Q. Were there any holes that particularly stuck out to you, one that you really liked the way you played?
ANTON GLASS: It's all relatively gettable. Like I said, just put the ball in play. There's a couple quirky holes out here, but every course has that. But nothing out of the blue.
Q. I know this is your first time here; how have the past few days practicing been as you've been getting ready?
ANTON GLASS: I didn't have too much practice. We flew in here, my caddie and I, on Saturday night. Played nine holes yesterday. We got rained out with the weather that came in.
We started on 10. That was the only hole we actually even played yesterday. We just finished 10. Then the back nine was all new to us. Not a lot of practice, but like I said, keep the ball in play, good swings.
Q. I know you birdied the last hole coming in. Can you walk us through that one?
ANTON GLASS: Yeah, just wanted to hit a good drive. Roughly where the bunkers are, it starts to pinch in a little bit, so just wanted to make sure to hit a good ball just short of the right fairway bunker. That was big just so I could still attack. It wasn't in the bunker yet, so I could still attack.
Yeah, hit a good wedge in there, a little deep, but just made it up with a good putt.
Q. Was it last year watching or keeping up with it? What really led you to coming here?
ANTON GLASS: To be honest, I actually did not hear about this tournament until the week of. I think one of my members at my golf club had mentioned about the tournament, and I had not heard anything about it. When it happened, I caught a little bit of it last year, the coverage and all, but that's the greatest thing is with how I heard about it, I didn't really tune in on to it, but I figured next year, why not sign up for it and give it a shot.
Q. What's it like being near the top of the leaderboard?
ANTON GLASS: Good. Today was just kind of to settle things in. Like I said, haven't played the back side at all. So I think it was just a good start to get a proper footing out there. We've got a lot of golf left to play. I think someone posted 5-under. We've got a lot of golf left to play, so I'm not worried about it.
Q. This being your first one, how has the camaraderie been? Has it surprised you how welcoming of a community it's been?
ANTON GLASS: It's big. I can definitely tell a lot of people are very excited. It's in its second year. I think it's definitely something that the USGA is really proud of, and having a golf tournament that's creating even more excitement, having players have that opportunity to get to showcase their talents, their skills on a global stage I think is an awesome thing, and it's awesome that Pinehurst and the USGA have teamed up for it for a second year in a row to deliver what I think is going to be an awesome championship.
Everyone out here is excited. We all want to play well. At the same time I think it's just a really good thing that the USGA has done to have a tournament like this for players.
Q. Now that you've finished, you've got another tee time tomorrow, what's the next 18 hours or so look like for you until you tee it up again?
ANTON GLASS: Yeah, my dad and one of my brothers is in town, so we're going to grab some dinner tonight. Good to catch up with them. They actually were out here walking with me, so that was nice, then just probably head back to the house, grab some rest and then come out tomorrow and hopefully we get a little better weather tomorrow, but outside of that, have some fun, keep going at it.
