Q. We're here with Mike Browne, 2-under 70 out there today. Can you talk us through your round?
MIKE BROWNE: Yeah, I had a really good round today. I obviously love the course, and it just suits my eye and suits my game. I felt like I could go pretty low today.
I still need to be able to finish it. I did the same as yesterday. I got to 4-under today and let a few drop at the end. I think a bit more food later on in the round will work for me tomorrow.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, and hopefully be in the mix again tomorrow.
Q. You are right at the top of the leaderboard within striking distance. What would it mean to capture a USGA championship title?
MIKE BROWNE: Yeah, it would be pretty cool. Sorry, I'm getting a bit choked up. This time last year my dad passed away, so yeah, this would be for him.
Q. You mentioned finishing a little bit better on the later parts of your round. What can you do tomorrow to ensure --
MIKE BROWNE: Yeah, like I say, I'm going to eat a bit more food, take a bit more fluid in because it was really hot today. But you think you're drinking enough, and it's not. I'm going to just hydrate and then just hopefully get my mind just strong enough on the last few holes to keep going.
Q. You mentioned this course really fits your eye. What about it? Can you expand on that a little bit?
MIKE BROWNE: Like everything -- I just like tight golf courses because I hit quite a straight ball. I hit a pretty long ball, so it's handy to have that, sort of going in with a few short irons and maybe a few mid-irons. It just suits me. The greens are just absolutely pure here. Yeah, I'm really enjoying it.
Q. You did just mention your dad passed away last year. What do you think you'd think about all this, you sitting atop the leaderboard?
MIKE BROWNE: Yeah, he'd be over the moon. Bless him.
