Q. Here with Ruoning Yin. What a round. 7 birdies, one bogey on the card. Shot 6-under. Lit it up on the back nine. Walk me through your back nine.
RUONING YIN: I think the front nine, that bogey, I think it's on hole 8, it's kind of a motivation for me. I set a goal before the round just bogey-free, and I was so mad after that. I just tried to make some birdies, yeah.
Q. What was the mindset that kind of let you get on -- obviously you were a little maybe angry -- that let you get on this birdie run? You made a lot of birdies in the last nine holes.
RUONING YIN: Yeah, because for the last month I think I spend all my time on my short game and putting because my wrist get injured, so I think that's pissed off a little bit.
Q. Speaking of that, you just told me you were excited to be. Didn't get to play Europe, didn't get to play Canada because of that wrist injury. How is the wrist now? Are you feeling better?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, right now it's much better, but just can't hit much ball.
Q. Maybe that's a good thing. First time out here this year as a rookie. First time I'm assuming playing this golf course. What have you liked so far about Highland Meadows?
RUONING YIN: I think this course fits me pretty well because my normal ball flight is kind of fade, and, yeah, I think it's fits me.
Q. You said your short game has gotten better. Were you been able to read these greens? I know they have a lot undulation in them and they're slopey.
RUONING YIN: I mean, today I read the greens pretty good. I think for my putt I just don't have much expectations, and just tried to hit a good putt.
Q. Tied for the lead after the first round here. The rest of the week obviously you've got a lot of confidence. Figured some things out. What's the mindset heading into the next three days tied for the lead right now?
RUONING YIN: I think for me, I just want to play my best out there and play some good golf. Yeah, just want to enjoy it.
Q. You had a friend just recently it was just announced she clinched her LPGA Tour card, Xiaowen Yin out on the Epson Tour. I know you two celebrated getting through Q-II last year by going to Universal. Just how excited are you for Xiaowen? Is there anything you want to say to her?
RUONING YIN: I mean, I'm so happy for her because last year she been playing pretty good. She won three tournament on the CLPGA Tour and I think she's a great player, and so I'm so happy for her.
Q. There is quite a good group of Chinese players on tour right now. You have to a friend out here next year, how excited are you for that?
RUONING YIN: I mean, feel more like home. Yeah, because in the beginning of this year every week is new city, new course for me. I'm speaking a different language with other people, so I'm so happy to have a Chinese player, more Chinese player come on the tour.
Q. Are there any of the current Chinese players. Yu Liu, Xiyu Lin that you've really reached out to and leaned on during this first year?
RUONING YIN: I think me and Xiyu, we're good friends and I think she's my pod leader, so we been talk very much and she's just give me some experience on this tour. Yeah.
