Q. All right, here with Janet, Xiyu Lin. Really solid round today. In contention heading into Sunday. Just evaluate your day out there.
XIYU LIN: I felt really comfortable last two days, and I know this course like there is always going to be people shooting really, really low scores, so I kind of told myself I put myself in pretty good position.
But it's Saturday, like let's keep moving forward. I think, yeah, today I play really, really well. Especially last couple holes I actually had some little bumps and then I ended up still manage to have a birdie and two par to finish. Especially the last hole. The par save was pretty big to me.
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my overall performance.
Q. Besides that par save, are there any other holes that stood out to you today? Made some birdies out there.
XIYU LIN: Yeah, so actually 16, 17, 18, like all my drives wasn't great off the tee, so 16 I have to hit a punch under the tree, and then 17 I was in the tree again. I punch it out and I actually hit it to like two foot from like 180 yards and make birdie.
Last hole I pull my 3-wood again and I was a little greedy to try to clear the water, and then I think I hit the rock and went into the water. Then I took a drop and then, I mean, I hit a good recovery shot and I'm just happy that putt went in.
Q. How much confidence does a round, a week like this give you heading into the rest of the season and also heading into tomorrow? You've been playing some solid golf this year.
XIYU LIN: Yeah, I think, I mean, this year obviously it's so far already one of my best season on tour and I had been putting myself up there couple of times.
I would say last couple weeks I was a little bit weak, like overall performance, so actually before Canada my coach and I was like, you know, trying to talking, had a little chat about how we should finish up the year.
Then, I mean, I just need to keep reminding myself my goal is still trying to get a win on tour, and then I just need to keep pushing myself to keep knocking on the door, and then hopefully, you know, one day it'll happen.
Q. What would it mean to do it here tomorrow?
XIYU LIN: I mean, I like this course a lot. I think this course suit my game. I mean, like the leaderboard super tight, like super crowded, so, I mean, I'm not going to overthink about it.
I just tomorrow hopefully just go out and do the same thing, like stay calm and stay aggressive.
Q. And last question from me: Got those two par-5s back to back. That is pretty unusual for us out here on the LPGA. Do you have a strategy in mind? Are you going for it every time?
XIYU LIN: I mean, obviously I'm going for it. That's why I hit it into the water. I think they're two great par-5s. It require like a good quality shot every like -- you know, both tee shot needs to shape the ball a little bit.
And then the second shot, you know, one hole is over water up a hill; another hole, like even 17 was a little closer, but the opening is not very wide.
It's very challenging, and, I mean, I'm sure going to be very exciting being especially with such a crowded leaderboard. So, yeah, it's going to be fun.
