Q. All right, here with Emily Kristine Pedersen after the first round at Ford Championship. Just talk about your round today. Top of the leaderboard right now. Several birdies out there. How did you take advantage of the course?
EMILY KRISTINE PEDERSEN: Yeah, I mean, fresh greens is always good, being out first. I knew that this was going to be a course that's going to be make loads of birdies, so I just stepped on the speed as much as I can.
I got off to a hot start birdieing the first three. Hit it solid tee to green. Had a couple three-putts in there that cost me some bogeys and stuff.
Yeah, overall really solid ball striking.
Q. You're one of the longest hitters out here. How do you take advantage of that on this course with some of the shorter reachable par-5s maybe?
EMILY KRISTINE PEDERSEN: Yeah, obviously it's an advantage on the par-5s. I can get up in two on all of them. Yeah, it's also nice that course is a little wide so I feel like I can of a rip at it a bit more.
Q. You mentioned starting off the first group. Do you prefer to play in the morning versus afternoon?
EMILY KRISTINE PEDERSEN: No. I'd rather play in the afternoon.
Q. Sleep in a little bit more maybe?
EMILY KRISTINE PEDERSEN: Yeah.
Q. What's been your experience playing out here in Arizona? Anything particular you like about Arizona desert golf?
EMILY KRISTINE PEDERSEN: I do really like desert golf. I think it suits me well. I think it looks really good when you play and the mountains are in the back. The fairways are super defined, super green. It suits my eye well.
