Q. Here with Celine Boutier. Solid way to start your week here. Not really a title defense, but kind of. How are you feeling about your game so far?
CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it's been good. I feel like this course is very scorable, so you get a lot of birdie chances.
The par-5s are pretty reachable, so I think it's a scorable course, and very excited for the weekend. I know we'll have to score low again to have a chance.
Q. What have you been liking about the conditions so far? I know obviously golf ball travels a little further in the desert. Anything else out here that's been nice for you on this golf course to play on this week?
CELINE BOUTIER: I think it's in really good condition. I like the fairway grass because it's overseeded so it's pretty much perfect, and there is not really much rough around the greens or like even off the fairway. So I think it's pretty wide. You can just feel pretty comfortable.
Q. How good is it to be back in the desert? I know we're about 30 minutes from where you captured that first win in a while. To be here, is there any good vibes or mojo you get from the desert this week that helped you play super well?
CELINE BOUTIER: I'm not sure. I definitely enjoy being here. I think it's fun that also the ball goes further and just visually it's just very appealing. It's so green and with the mountains in the backgrounds and all. It's pretty cool you also have good weather as well so always good for the mood.
Q. Saw Anne Marie Palli out here. Obviously was there for that win last year at Superstition. I know you two are going to have dinner later this week. How cool is it to be around one of the legends of French golf trying to win another event in the state this week?
CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, she's been really supportive and very fun to be around, so it's always cool to be able to see her.
She's always cheering on the French players and all that, so I think it's pretty cool to have someone like that supporting us.
And, yeah, she's always bringing good energy and some pastries as well, so always nice to see her.
Q. Just looking ahead to the weekend, obviously said got to go low again. What's the strategy going to be to go low over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday?
CELINE BOUTIER: I think just be maybe more aggressive with the lines on the approach shots, because sometimes you -- I know I tend to be very conservative with my targets a lot of times, and I feel like just have to allow myself to be a little bit more aggressive with my lines just because, again, there is quite a bit of room around the greens.
And so it's okay even if you miss the green, but you have to take chances. You have to make some birdies.
