THE MODERATOR: I'm here in the media center with Georgia Hall at the 2023 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. First of all, let's just dive into this week. You played here in 2019, 2020, and 2022. It will be your fourth time at Pinnacle Country Club. What have you learned from playing the course?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I really love the course. It's definitely a birdiefest. You can get a lot of birdies and even some eagles out here.
The weather is great every time I come. I have some really nice host housing, a family that I stay with, and they're so like giving and it's just such an easy week. They give me a buggy that I just rock up to the parking lot.
It's just a really easy week and I really enjoy it, so that's why I love coming back here.
Q. Over the years when you came back what have you noticed about the local community and the support that's here in Arkansas?
GEORGIA HALL: We get so many crowds. It's very nice to see. And more importantly so many families and young children coming out to support us. My host family have two children. One is a daughter and she wants know what I'm wearing every day and we have our hair the same way.
There are loads of girls out here like that. I think it's encouraging the younger generation here especially in Arkansas to take up the game. I think it's just really great for the community.
Q. I'll address the elephant in the room of playing in Solheim Cup last week. Very exciting week for Team Europe. What are the thoughts that pop into your mind thinking back it last week?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, you don't remember much, to be honest. It's a bit of a whirlwind. You don't really get five minutes to yourself. But it's a great week and so many fond memories.
It's my fourth Solheim, and every time it just happens to get closer and closer. I thought we lost at one point and then it turned around within the last hour. I mean, the Europeans have such so strong team spirit with us, and it's just incredible. Obviously very happy for Suzann. She's done a fantastic job.
Q. You mentioned it being your fourth time. How do you feel like this year compared to the three other times you played?
GEORGIA HALL: It's really hard to top Gleneagles with Suzann holding that putt, and if she missed it we would've lost. So that was pretty close.
It was very different this year. We had so many people from all round Europe come to support us, so many English there and Irish. There was of Irish there.
The golf course was fantastic for match play, and I thought we had a really strong team going into it, probably the strongest on paper.
It was just a great week for women's golf in general. The quality of golf played was phenomenal from both sides, and the sportsmanship involved, and looking forward to next year.
Q. And you mentioned too being coached by Suzann. What did you learn about her maybe in the weeks leading up to Solheim Cup and the week of Solheim Cup? Any notes you took of her as a leader?
GEORGIA HALL: I mean, she's a strong leader for sure. You don't want to get on the wrong side of Suzann.
But she's just like a player as well. When she played she was just so fierce and so competitive. I could see that she put a lot of preparation into that week, even by pairings and getting lots of stats together for her players.
Obviously didn't go to plan the first round. We were 4-nil down and she really just came in the team room and said, right, refocus. You played really well, all of us. Just unlucky to lose. Go out there and give it your all.
Like I said, really proud for her to be a captain, especially for next year as well.
Q. And how do you transition to this week being so different, no foursomes, four-ball? What were some takeaways from last week in your game you're hoping to bring into this week?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, when I first saw my caddie this week I was like, it's weird to be wearing this clothing. You get so used to the team clothing and everyone wearing the same thing, and now you're back to yourself, just you and your caddie.
I do miss that already, to be fair. Golf is such an individual sport and game. It was just so nice to be in a team environment.
But definitely trying to preserve energy. Played four out of five matches, so quite a lot. And then a very long, tiresome couple travel days here. Happy it's a three-day event to say the least.
