Q. All right, here with Gaby Lopez after her first round. Just talk about the opening round you had out there today.
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, very solid overall. I think we hit a couple tap-in birdies that made my round very, very easy.
So, yeah, I knew it was a lot of wind in the afternoon for sure. We played with tough conditions out there. Still feel like the greens are very soft so you can go for pins.
Overall, very happy with how solid we played today.
Q. Haven't seen too many low rounds this afternoon and yours is one of the lowest. How do you stay on track and kind of battle those conditions?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, for sure. I mean, it gets really windy sideways. Yeah, just trying to be patient. Hit the shots that I think it kind of reminded me a little bit of Scotland, British Open, those strong winds. Kind of 30 mile per hour gusts.
But still, it's fun. I'm really, really thankful that I have evolved my game. My team and I have done a good job having more shots in the bag that makes it a little bit easier the round.
Q. Looked like you had quite the posse watching you of Razorbacks. What did what mean?
GABY LOPEZ: It means the world. You know, this place, I've been here playing for probably 12 or 13 years, so I can see myself from when I was in college all the way here and I can see so many other players, amazing golfers just kind of growing up, evolving with their games, and being very -- guess being very fearless.
And what it is, it's just amazing to see the Razorback community and the women's golf team have this opportunity. They can also see this as a taste for the future.
Q. Maria Jose when I talked to her she had a great round and credited a lot to spending time with you. What does that mean?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, for sure. Maria is an amazing girl. We should keep our eyes on her because she's probably going to join us on tour any time soon.
She's the leader of our team so I'm really happy that we have more Latinas on our team and more Mexicans, so hopefully we can bring on board a little more.
