Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, you had five birdies today. Start with that. How much does that show you what you're capable of and what this course is capable of giving you for the next two days?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I hit the ball fairly well. I was -- I think I had so many opportunities within 15 feet on 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 16. I had so many that -- and I holed none, and when I actually hit a really, really bad putt it went in.

So I think this is a golf course where you know you have to go low to be in contention.

Yeah, you know, overall solid. Just kind of probably like one miss course management, and I just got a flier that I hit really, really good shot, and being long on that back pin on the last is probably not the most ideal place to be.

Overall I played solid, and that's all I can do.

Q. Obviously you saw how tough 18 can play, but how tough or easy could it play depending on how you set it up for yourself for approach shots?

LYDIA KO: I mean, I think if you drive -- there is a few holes that making par is really good. Like 4 is one; 8 is another.

I think outside of those I think as long as you are in a decent position off the tee it's pretty gettable. Hopefully I'll be able to continue playing solid, like I did today, and then go from there.

Q. And then what makes Pinnacle Country Club maybe a course that fits your game?

LYDIA KO: Having won here before obviously draws back a lot of good memories. My pro-am group, I've been with them for I think almost six or seven years.

Q. Oh, wow.

LYDIA KO: Like John and the whole group at Kimberly-Clark, they come out and watch me play. So I feel like it's kind of like playing at home to some extent.

Yeah, no, I love it here. The fans get excited and the course is really nice, so I enjoy this one.
