HYE-JIN CHOI

Quick Quotes

Q: What was the highlight of the round today? Eagle on 7, take me through that.

HYE-JIN CHOI: I got off to a not a bad start but there was a shaky point in the middle of the round. After that I hit a really good shot on a par 3 and I think my feel for the shot came back with that tee shot, so I trusted that feeling in to the next hole and it hit close to the pin and the putt went in for an eagle so I rode that momentum to the next hole for a birdie as well.

Q: You're near the top of the leaderboard with one round left. How does that change your game plan ahead of tomorrow?

HYE-JIN CHOI: I feel like I’ve left with a disappointment each week. With one round left, I think I have a good feel for my shot, so I want to trust that and trust myself to concentrate for the final round.

Q: How do you stay consistent?

HYE-JIN CHOI: I try not to get a bogey, but even if I get one, I try not to be too disappointed and get through it. Likewise, when I get a birdie, I try not get too up and stay calm and prepare for the next hole.

Q: You play a lot of golf. Do you take breaks and how do you manage all that golf?

HYE-JIN CHOI: I’ve really played a lot of tournaments this year and part of that is because it’s my rookie year. I don’t have a home yet, so it’s not like I have a place to be if I don’t play at a tournament. So I’ve been playing a lot and maintaining my golf. Of course there’s tough parts to playing in so many tournaments, but I’ve been working out in between and hopefully that’ll end up helping me with my physical in the long run.

Q: Do you think you'll have to shoot low tomorrow to win?

HYE-JIN CHOI: I think I saw the leader was 12-under and it’s a course where you can get a lot of birdies, so I think I need to get at least 6-, 7-under to have a chance for a win.
