Q. Solid round, 69 to kick off the week in Scotland. Talk me through your round.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Roller coaster the front nine, and then made eagle on 5, and hit it up to 12 feet. A that leveled me out for the day but I was solid. The weather was nice and it was not windy at all, maybe five miles an hour or so. Still played firm like links golf but the wind was not a factor today.
Q. How do you readjust from playing Evian to here, links-style?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: It's a big adjustment. It's not the same. The ball doesn't go as par here and you get some quirky lies which are kind of the same as Evian but it's just a different style of golf. Played solid last week and you just kind of take the positives and what you need to work on and then just kind of do a little better this week.
Yeah, so you know, feeling confident in my game and just one day at a time.
Q. How did you find Dundonald? Pretty mild today?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: I thought it's playing a lot different. Tuesday, and even yesterday, the wind has not been crazy. Tuesday there was like some wind but yeah, links golf can be nasty when the wind blows. I mean, the clubs I hit today didn't compare to what I hit in my practise round weren't even close to the same and the wind makes the links golf, so I think it's supposed to blow a little bit more tomorrow. Just kind of adjust.
Q. What is that mindset heading into the next three days, wind tomorrow, rain Saturday?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: I feel like that's what you expect in links golf. You come to expect it. So I feel like today was a nice treat of, welcome to links golf and just get prepared, because that's what it should be.
I mean, I've played in all types of weather over here and I feel like usually the practise rounds have been mild and then the day the tournament starts, it's been kind of nasty. You just embrace the challenge and that's what it takes and you can hit a good shot and not judge it right or get a funky bounce and you have to take it for what it is.
Q. What have you found in your game the last couple weeks that's been different from tournaments past?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: I feel like I've been close. I feel like it's kind of slowly coming together. Kind of starting at the U.S. Open, I really started to play some good golf and at Dow I played really good with Elizabeth and started hitting the ball well and putting it well.
Just not making many mistakes, so hitting a lot of greens, a lot more than I normally have and when you hit a lot greens, not really a lot can go wrong. Just trying to play smart, hit a lot of fairways and greens and make a few putts.
