Q. Great opening day, 5-under, one off the lead as it stands.
LEONIE HARM: Yeah, I had a great round out there. Not a breath of wind. I was proud of myself that I could take advantage of that because you still have to make the birdies. My scorecard was clean and I had a couple holes where it was a bit of a close call and had to make a smart decision.
On 7 I had my tee shot stuck in a bush and thought, oh, it was a ways to the green, don't do anything stupid. I chipped it and still got up-and-down from a hundred. Those are the kind of additions that I'm proud of myself there.
Q. The conditions can't be much more different from Germany where it's blazing hot. Still playing such great golf. Confidence must be very, very high?
LEONIE HARM: Thank you. I mean, the weather conditions are like much more comfortable this week. You actually can put on a sweater. It wasn't windy or raining at all. I've had an interesting three weeks in between. I took it off but actually really struggled with my shot-shaping. You probably won't believe me but I really struggled and even had a chip match and I was the worst person out there chipping. I swear, just hit all the greens and then they saw my ball-striking, and are like, you hit all the greens.
I'm glad once tournament golf comes back, I'm able to hit my numbers again and that's really good. Fingers crossed it stays like that.
Q. The weather is due to change a little bit. How are you in these sort of conditions? Something you enjoy playing?
LEONIE HARM: It's totally different. I used to really enjoy playing in wind because I had like very low spin irons and I would punch it around all the time, and I used to do well in windy conditions.
However, now, I've got a bit of a different set of clubs, and I lose a lot of distance into the wind. I just hope I still get to the greens. But we'll see. We'll just take it as it comes.
