Q. What was working well for you today to shoot 64?
HYE-JIN CHOI: Today I had really good shots overall. But more than my shots, my putter was very good so I had a lot of chances. I just made birdies when I got the chance and I played well with a good attitude on the rest of my holes.
Q. How did you adjust to links golf?
HYE-JIN CHOI: It's a different style compared to Evian. To be honest, I don't have good memories on this style of golf course. But today, I had a good result because there was no wind and my shots were really good. I'll try to keep my swing feeling good and focus more for the rest of the rounds this week.
Q. Made a bogey late in the round but made an eagle and a few birdies to close out the round. How did you bounce back?
HYE-JIN CHOI: That hole I made bogey, I didn't expect that there was a hazard because I just practiced once this week. I was pretty upset when I missed and I really try to be calm on next hole. Luckily, I made eagle with long putt and that was the momentum for today.
Q. How were you able to make so many birdies?
HYE-JIN CHOI: I had a lot of birdies. Like I said, I made some really good putts today. So I just believed in my green-reading and just hit it. That really worked and all the balls hit the middle of hole. That helped me to keep up my confidence.
Q. What’s the mindset for the rest of the week?
HYE-JIN CHOI: Today was the day to shoot a good score because there was no wind. Forecast said it'll be windy the rest of the rounds. So I think that I need to practice lower shots and some chip shots around the green.
Q. Your caddie Pete knows links golf really well. How did he help you today?
HYE-JIN CHOI: He said several times that he really likes this style of course. He helps a lot when I read the wind and he also helped to measure distance to pin around the greens.
