Quick Quotes

Q. Brilliantly played today. A round of 65. Can you just talk to me a little bit about your round today.

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Today, just all the club selection. I had a lot of great decision with my caddie, which is great. I hit it so close and then made the putt.

Q. And this is actually your lowest round ever in links golf. I think previously it was 67, this event, in 2019. What do you think it was about today, and what really brought about your game that got you there?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: It's just all about the approach shot, that I hit it so close today, that's it. And then the tee shot, you just have to hit it in the fairway. And that's it, yeah. You have a good, like, commitment today.

Q. And do you think it was anything about the conditions? It was a little bit warmer today.

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Yes. And it's, you know -- because it's so warm and no wind, so I hit it -- we had a lot of like short club in our hands too. Just so lucky with the conditions today.

Q. And being a Trust Golf invite, what would it mean to you to make the cut and finish in the top 10, even top 5 this week?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: It would mean a lot. I want to thank Trust Golf to give me a chance to play this tournament, and then I'll do my best.

Q. And what would you say how you're going to prepare for the weekend?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Just stick with the same thing, just hit it in the fairway and then be patient all day.

Q. Could you just talk to me a little bit about your favorite hole at Dundonald Links, or is there any holes that stand out on the course?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: I feel like I like the hole No. -- is it 14, the par-5? It's like you get a chance to go for the second shot, but it just made me patient to lay up and then play a great shot. I like that hole a lot.

Q. Is there anything else about Dundonald Links and Scotland?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: I don't know, it just feels so great. Like I play here 2017, 2020, it is so windy there, but I still play good that year. I don't know, maybe the golf course like me or all the spectators, stuff like that.

Q. And how have you seen this event evolve over the last few years? Does it feel like this event has improved a lot over the last few years, especially with a new sponsor?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Yes, yes, yes. A lot of things that's so good out here and the golf course and all the staff and all the food, I think. Yeah.
