Quick Quotes

Q. Really good stuff the first couple of days, 4-under today, 6-under overall. How do you reflect on it so far?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I played pretty solid today. It was super windy out there this morning. I was pretty cold. But I felt like it was a pretty good score. Made a few birdies and an eagle on 18, as well. So yeah I'm pretty happy with my game.

Q. There was bogeys out there as well but when it blows like this, you have to take them and fight back, haven't you?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, you just have to accept all the shots. It's hard to judge all the wind all the time, and setting the shots, you're going to get cold, do certain things, and you've just got to grind it out there. I felt like I was playing well but definitely was a ball-striking kind of day.

Q. Quick turnaround because you had a late finish yesterday and obviously up pretty early this morning. So how are the energy levels?

CHARLEY HULL: I feel good. I'm going to go to the gym this afternoon. I finished off the golf course at 8.50 last night and my tee time originally was 7.21 this morning, and that would have been a quick turnaround but they put the tee times back by two hours and so at least I got a little bit of recovery.

Q. Thoughts ahead of the weekend. If it keeps blowing like this; I know you quite enjoy tougher conditions.

CHARLEY HULL: I really do. I hope it does blow this weekend and I think it's a good test and a good practise for next week.

Q. You said in the past that you don't like playing links golf, but then you come out here and you score really well. What goes through your mind?

CHARLEY HULL: I think I'm actually getting more kind of used to it. I actually played on Monday, Turnberry, so that was a good challenge. And I think I'm just embracing it more.

Like I do like links golf. I love links golf. But usually my game, I find it hard to play in, especially a tournament because I feel like my game is built for America. But the last few weeks, me and my coach have been working on doing more three-quarter swings so I can do a low ball flight for the British Open. So I think it is actually paying off.
