Quick Quotes

Q. Su Oh, shot a 1-under 71 today. You had a bit of color there on your scorecard. Lots of up and downs, but an eagle. Eagle is always good. Tell us about what happened there.

SU OH: Yeah, I mean, it was pretty tough out there. I was a couple over on the front and I was like, Oh, well. I don't think I played that badly but just a couple of three-putts really.

And then actually hit it over -- it's a really tricky tee shot because there is a tree in the way unless you like fade it, so I kind of hit it high and it went over the tree, so it was on the right side of the fairway but then it like kicked somehow into the left rough and it wasn't sitting very nice.

I was like, Oh, I'll just try and get it somewhere just over the green, and it went in. I hit it really good, but I thought came out a bit hot, and there were some volunteers and some people watching, which was nice, and they were like, Yay, and I was like, Yay.

Q. It's nice to have those moments again with the fans.

SU OH: Yeah, so I went three on 10, two on 11, and then 5 on 12.

I was like, golf. Love golf.

Q. Yeah, sometimes you wonder why do we do this.

SU OH: Oh, yeah, a lot of times. I guess that's why it's so addicting. Yeah, I mean, it wasn't really a bad shot. I just got a bit unlucky in the bunker, and that's all you need on that hole.

Q. Going back to the eagle, how far out were you?

SU OH: I was like 107 yards. Yeah, pretty far.

Q. Yeah, nice. Take it any day.

SU OH: Oh, yeah, I'll take it every time it comes.

Q. Yes. You got in today; it's going to be very different this weekend. Windy, wet. What do you think your game plan is going to be to make it through those conditions?

SU OH: Yeah, I don't know like how much the golf course can take rain. It's very hilly so I think -- first of all, it's a very hilly golf course and I think it's quite dangerous walking off the tees, so I think if it's a little bit slippery I'm not sure how much we can be out there. Even no rain or anything it's very, very steep.

But, I mean, the golf course is pretty long, so if it gets wet and there is no run I think it's going to be quite tricky. But, I mean, the greens are going to be fast, so, yeah, we'll see how bad the rain is.

Q. I think our saving grace is there has been very little rain the last three months.

SU OH: Yeah, I played with some people and they said they haven't had any rain for three months, but they're still so green. There is still some wet spots out there. I was quite surprised. I mean, the course is in great condition so hopefully the rain, it's not too bad. Really hope.

Q. Absolutely. Changing subjects, we had Hannah in before for a pre-tournament press conference and she said she's been spending a lot of time with you traveling around England and in Orlando, since we know you guys can't go home. How are you handling the life of a nomad?

SU OH: Yeah, I mean, it's been very hard. I think it's just the fact that we can't go home; my family can't come out of Australia. I just had a flight and it's just been canceled.

Yeah, it's just very frustrating. I'm sure people back in Melbourne and Sydney right now are even more frustrated. They've been in lockdown, like all my friends.

I just hope we can get our crap together.

Q. At least you've got people out here to take you in and the GA house where you can go be in Orlando.

SU OH: Oh, yeah, it's been great. It's like a home away from home. There were 10 of us in there last time we were there. It's just nice to see everybody. It is.

I mean, I think it's quite good that we're here. I just -- the rest of the world is moving on. We've just been in limbo a bit. Hopefully our vaccination rates are going high so hopefully they stick to what they've said and we'll be able to go back home.

Q. Well, you've always got a home away from a home here.

SU OH: Yeah.
