Q. We're rolling here with Lilia Vu after your second round in the AmazingCre Portland Classic. I see you in contention all the time. I know this is your first time in this event, correct?
LILIA VU: Yes.
Q. Yes. So tell me if it means anything different to be in contention at a place you're just getting to know for the first time?
LILIA VU: It feels pretty good to be in contention here. The course it a little tighter. It's not as long, but definitely tight off the tee.
I kind of struggled yesterday off the tee. I'm surprised I got away with it and finished 4-under. So just didn't believe in myself a lot.
And then today I just showed up and said, you know how good you are. Just believe in yourself. That's what I did.
Q. I feel even though this course is new, I feel like your course management skills are really good. You seem to be successful everywhere. So is that something you work on a lot? How do you manage the courses?
LILIA VU: I think I do have good course management. I learned that mostly in college, and I just know that sometimes going for the green isn't always something I'm comfortable with.
So I'm completely fine laying up, and then I feel like I can make a birdie from anywhere.
Q. I saw you had a long stretch of birdies right off the bat. Interested to know what you did before the round just to mentally and physically prepare yourself for that.
LILIA VU: I didn't do anything different really. I just I think came to the golf course believing in myself more than I did yesterday, and that helped a lot.
Q. How do you believe in yourself? Do you look in the mirror and say something? What's that process like? I know it's different for everybody.
LILIA VU: I think I look back and I see that I've had a good couple years. And that's just me being positive; nothing with my skill or technique.
So I just showed up today and felt grateful to be here and then played golf.
Q. What are you looking forward to most this weekend?
LILIA VU: The fans. I think more fans will come out and I'm excited for that.
Q. Yeah. And final question from me: Tell me if it gives you more confidence, pep, excitement going into the weekend with a lead, being in the top?
LILIA VU: Yeah, I mean, I'm just going to go out there and do the same thing and not think too much about it. Just not get ahead of myself; play one shot at a time.
Q. Does playing with other people who are playing well like yourself really help you or inspire or motivate you?
LILIA VU: Honestly, I don't know what the other people in my group are shooting, and I just kind of focus on myself.
