Q. All right, here with Bianca Pagdanganan after her first round at the Portland Classic. What a great start for you today. Maybe what was the key to those first several holes on the front nine?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: Definitely a lot of patience out there. We're all dealing with the same conditions, so, I mean, I feel like I had a pretty basic game plan, and fairways and greens again. It was pretty tough. I think I slipped a couple times.
I just waited for putts to drop and turned you out pretty good.
Q. I know the practice rounds were really dry, so today how did you adjust your mentality to be able to handle this weather?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: I guess not getting too frustrated over the bad shots. I feel like they were bound to happen today, at least with how much it poured this morning.
Again, I think it's a lot of patience and just taking everything shot by shot.
I knew that it was going to be a little bit softer on the greens so I tried to be a little bit more aggressive with my irons, and it helped me out.
Q. Did getting off to an early start help you? Was it maybe less rainy this morning or was it rain throughout?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: I would say it just rained throughout. We were warming up and it started to drizzle a little bit, and I don't think it ever stopped honestly.
So I wouldn't say there was much of an advantage starting early.
Q. I know this year maybe hasn't been everything you expected, but you have confidence after this first round. Where would you say your game is overall?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: I feel like the last event, too, I was hitting it pretty good, so it was just more waiting for my time.
I mean, I hit good shots; nothing was dropping. Today I made a couple putts and tried to keep that momentum going.
I mean, I guess I'm pretty satisfied with how I'm playing. I think I'm striking the ball decent. I have been working a lot on my putting, short game, so it's nice to see the hard work pay off.
Q. Have you made any adjustments to your game recently?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: Not necessarily, no. It's just really spending a lot more time around the green and grinding when it really matters.
But, yeah, I wouldn't necessarily say I'm working on anything. It's just really putting in the effort and the time to get better.
Q. What you do you take from this round into tomorrow? Hopefully the weather will be different. What keys do you take away from today?
BIANCA PAGDANGANAN: Honestly I wouldn't say that I was striking it A+ today. It was just decent. I did miss a couple fairways out there today, but I guess it's just trying to stay positive after ever every shot.
Again, getting frustrated over one shot isn't really going to benefit me, and, yeah, it's just controlling what I can control out here.
So I think that's probably the one thing I'm going to do tomorrow.
