Q. Here with Perrine Delacour after her first round at the Portland Classic. What a round it was. The rain didn't seem to bother you at all. Maybe what were some of the keys out there for you today?
PERRINE DELACOUR: I played solid. I mean, I hit 16 greens, and when I was missing them I was pretty easy up and down.
So, yeah, definitely my long game was pretty solid all day.
Q. Really good start for you. I know birdie right off the bat and then five in a row, I think. How did you manage that?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, I mean, I wasn't really paying attention on how many birdie I was making. I started with birdie on 1 and I was playing pretty solid all day. I was just keep focusing on trying to make as much as I can.
Q. I didn't realize you were making like five in a row right there?
PERRINE DELACOUR: No, I didn't. I didn't know what was my score at some point. When you're in that zone you don't realize your score and you're just scared, not scared to anything. You go to every pin and you know it's going to be fine.
Q. Had to be a big adjustment after the couple practice rounds which were really dry. What was the mentality shift coming out today when it was really wet all day?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Well, the goal today was to be dry. We knew it was going to be wet, so my main goal was to try to get my club as dry as we can, which we did pretty good with my caddie.
I didn't have my goal set up regarding practice round because I wasn't really paying attention on practice round. It was just trying to do simple thing and enjoy the ride on the golf course.
Q. And it was bogey-free. What's the key to limiting mistakes out there on the course? What do you have to avoid?
PERRINE DELACOUR: I think if you're driving is pretty good you're definitely having a good look from every hole, so if you're in the fairway or missing in the right side, in the right area, you're going to have a good chance to avoid bogeys.
Q. How much confidence does it give you to see your name on the top of the leaderboard going into maybe a couple more rounds?
PERRINE DELACOUR: It's definitely good. I mean, I've been working with my team a lot. I'm just trying my best. We're only Thursday so still a lot of golf going on. We're just going to keep focusing and build momentum being on the leaderboard.
Q. Where would you say your game is overall? How comfortable are you? What's the best aspect maybe of your game?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Well, today, I mean, when you're in that zone everything works pretty good. Coming into this week was not great. I mean, I have a -- luckily I have my team with me back in France but they were really helping me to be able to play the tournament.
So it's just mainly just enjoy the ride. I mean, Portland is pretty good. Even though it's raining it's nice course.
Q. Last question: I know a couple years ago you finished fourth here, so you must enjoy this course, right? What is it about it that might suit your game?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, when I finished fourth it was another course. It was when we switch it.
Q. Oh, that's right.
PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, no, it reminds me a lot of Europe because it's so green just like Europe, so of course I always like Portland.
