Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Ronni, what a day today, 8-under 64. Just take me through what was working so well on the second day.

RUONING YIN: I mean, today this weather is definitely better than yesterday, but the green and the fairway still pretty soft. I took a few hole to figure out what's the approach shot with the landing spot, because first couple hole I was like pitch like just pin high and spun back a lot.

Took me a while to figure it out.

And my approach shot was good and my putting -- I putted so well today.

Q. First birdie on No. 5 after you were saying you were getting used to it in the first couple holes. When did it feel like it was clicking, feel this momentum start to pick up?

RUONING YIN: I think probably on No. 8 because No. 5 was a par-5. That doesn't count. So No. 8 I just see the line and trust the line and putt the ball and just goes in.

And I think start on 8. I just start feeling my putt.

Q. How long was that putt?

RUONING YIN: I would say 15 feet.

Q. Sick.

RUONING YIN: Yeah.

Q. What was it like closing out kind of the back nine? We're seeing more scores, lower scores on really the front nine holes. You were really able to continue your momentum and take advantage of the back nine. What was suiting your game in those last couple holes?

RUONING YIN: Like I said, my approach shot was pretty good today and just basically I just aim at the flag and finish at the flag. That is pretty good. I wish I could take this into the weekend.

Q. How key was it to take advantage of the scorable conditions in the afternoon?

RUONING YIN: I think in the afternoon the green gets a little bumpy, but like my caddie always tell me, like you just see the line and you just trust it; the result doesn't matter. That doesn't really matter if you trust it.

Q. I know this is your second week with Mr. David Jones on the bag.

RUONING YIN: Yes.

Q. I know he's been a veteran out here for quite sometime. What have you been picking up from him on the bag with you?

RUONING YIN: I feel like his experience is the things I rely on, and, yeah.

Q. What will you take from the first two rounds, especially with a 64 like today, as we head into the weekend? We've seen some pretty low scores here, yourself included today. What's the key to continuing that?

RUONING YIN: 64 is actually my career lowest score so I'm pretty happy today. But today when I come to the course, Janet already finish and I saw her had a really good round today. I was like, okay, I got to catch up. Yeah, it's a good day.
