Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Polly Mack after her third round at the Portland Classic. Bogey-free round for you today. Not as many birdies as maybe the past few days. How were you staying patient out there throughout the round?

POLLY MACK: It's tough when the putts are not falling, but I think I did a good job still trying to hit some shots close, giving me some opportunities, giving me some chances.

I think that's what it's all about. I can't control sometimes what happens out there, if a putt bumps away. So stay patient and giving myself opportunities, and that's going to be tomorrow, too.

Q. Do you appreciate how well you played the past two days and all the birdie opportunities out there more with a round that doesn't see as many fall? You're still at the top of the leaderboard, so you clearly did something right on the first two rounds.

POLLY MACK: Right. I wouldn't even say that today was not a good round. I think I'm still happy with the 3-under today. Obviously not what I really wanted, but, yeah, sometimes the putter is not hot. Last few days the putter was very hot. Probably one of the best putting stats I've had in a while, so really happy about that.

I'm thinking back on that for tomorrow and taking that into tomorrow and hoping for a good round.

Q. You're T4 at the end of the day, I think just two or three strokes back of the lead. How confident or calm or what are you feeling heading into Sunday knowing you're a long player and that the birdies are out there?

POLLY MACK: I'm certainly very confident to be honest. I like being back and chasing the top. That's always a comfort to me honestly. I won a tournament before like that.

I know my abilities and I know when I trust my game and keep hitting it close and make some putts that I can certainly do great tomorrow.

Q. You said yesterday you were just having fun. Have you been having fun? Are enjoying yourself a lot this week?

POLLY MACK: Absolutely. Yeah, my caddie ChiChi and I are having a lot of fun counting planes and having different games out there with the planes. I think today I won the game against her; she won yesterday.

That's how we keep ourselves distracted from what's a little crazy out there. Yeah, having fun for sure.

Q. She said playing bingo might be on the card for tomorrow. I don't know what that is, but sounds fun for sure.

POLLY MACK: Yeah.

Q. Just last question: Obviously you're chasing your first LPGA Tour victory in your second season out here on tour. What would a win tomorrow mean to you?

POLLY MACK: It would mean incredibly a lot. I mean, just all the work we put in in the past, honestly since I'm little, standing here, coming in close is just so exciting. I can't wait for tomorrow.

And, yeah, I think it'll feel really, really good. I love having my team, my parents, my family, everybody watching and having my back. Yeah, it's just great.
