Q. We are joined by Nanna Koerstz-Madsen after a 5-under 66 in the first round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. Nanna, a solid day, including two birdies on 17 and 18 to close out the round. Take us through how good it felt to put a solid number up on the board, especially closing out strong.
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Felt good. Wasn't easy this morning. It was really cold and it was actually a little windy when we first started out.
I was happy with the round that I finished with.
Q. It seems like greens are firm, most fairways are firm, and the rough looks punishing out there. How tough is the Bay Course playing?
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Definitely the greens, how firm they are is the toughest part. The rough is okay for me, but obviously if you get into the rough it's going to be even more tricky getting into the greens.
But I like that they're really firm, so, yeah.
Q. Linksy conditions out there, although the wind didn't blow. Do you like links golf, and what is it about it that you do like?
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I like when the greens are firm, which links usually is, because I can kind of land it before. Usually when we play too soft greens it's hard to get it close because it spins too much.
So, yeah, I like them.
Q. In a 54-hole event it's much more of a sprint than a marathon. How do you change your mindset to come in and put up a good number early?
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: You can't really change anything. You stick to the game plan. If you are just going to go out and try and hit off every green on this course, it's going to beat you up.
I think you just got to stay patient and play your game.
Q. Take us through the last month of golf for you and how you've kind of found -- seems like you found a nice little rhythm.
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Yeah, I'm actually just trying to be way more patient out there and don't try and get 7-under in the first round.
I've done that a couple times and then I shoot 1-over or 3-over in the next round. So it's really just more about putting three or four rounds together. That's my mindset at the moment.
That's what I'm trying to do.
Q. Any of the birdies in particular stand out today's a little more memorable than the others?
NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: No. It was normal birdies how you say. I made some good putts, so, yeah.
