Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Dottie Ardina coming off her first round at the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. Start with an easy question. How did you find the course today? What were the challenges and what were the easy parts?

DOTTIE ARDINA: Definitely there is no easy parts. I think the greens are not in a very good condition. It's pretty bumpy.

But I did have a lot of birdie chances that are makable, so I was just trying to be patient out there. If I make it I make it; if not, then it's a par.

Q. Right. A lot of players have said that the birdie chances are there but are still very hard to get the birdie.

DOTTIE ARDINA: Yeah, to get the birdie.

Q. So how important are just making those chances and even just getting par? How important is that this week?

DOTTIE ARDINA: I mean, obviously it's pretty important, but I think it's just being patient out there is the key, because there is going to be a lot of birdie chances and putts must fall hopefully.

Yeah, just keep going.

Q. This is your best round of the season. Can you just tell me how it feels and what it takes to come and play a really good round out here after maybe not having the ideal start to your season?

DOTTIE ARDINA: I mean, I was just playing out there. Just treating it like a practice round. I didn't give much pressure out there today.

I have a new caddie this week, so I guess that helps, too.

Q. Uh-huh.

DOTTIE ARDINA: So, yeah.

Q. Is he going to be a new caddie sticking around or just for the week?

DOTTIE ARDINA: No, just for this week and next week, yeah.

Q. You played in ShopRite before. Tell me how you like this tournament and what is it you like about ShopRite in general?

DOTTIE ARDINA: I mean, it's always fun and exciting to be here and play this week. You just never know what weather you're going to get. It's either windy or just like a normal day.

Yeah, and I had, you know, pretty good highlights from last year. (Laughter.)

Q. You did. Tell me about those from last year. What were some of the highlights you remember?

DOTTIE ARDINA: Oh, it was the last hole because think I was 1-over and I had to make the cut. I need to make an eagle on 18 and I holed out from 60 yards I think. So that was pretty fun. It was a big crowd.

Q. That's awesome. What makes you want to play in a tournament like this? It's after a major week, it's shorter. What is it you like about specifically playing I guess?

DOTTIE ARDINA: I think, like I said earlier, it's just -- I think the course is not too long either and I don't hit very far.

Q. Yeah.

DOTTIE ARDINA: You know, it's just -- I think it suits my game, like the length of the course this week, so I'm always looking forward to that.

Q. Right. And since it's a shorter tournament just in general, how important do you think it is that you set yourself up so high on the first day knowing there is only two days left?

DOTTIE ARDINA: I mean, I'm pretty confident with my game right now. I think I'm just going to do like what I did today. Two more days, you know, still a lot of golf. I'm just going to stay focused.
