Q. Lexi, I know you had a lot fun with Angel Yin on the walk over and all the laughs.
LEXI THOMPSON: Always.
Q. It seemed like you also had some fun on the course today. A nice 6-under par 64 to share the 36-hole lead here at Pelican Women's Championship. What's going right so far this week?
LEXI THOMPSON: I think overall just going out there and enjoying myself, making sure I stay in the moment, committing to my golf shots.
I've just really been working extremely hard on and off the golf course, working with Martin Hall quite a bit, so just putting that work to the test and believing in it.
Q. You have a contingent around every week, but seems like you have a few more friends in the crowd. Anyone in particular that has been able to come out and watch you, family, friends, or the like?
LEXI THOMPSON: Honestly, probably just both my parents. My mom's first event is this one in the last few years, so it's really nice to have her out supporting me. And she'll go to next week as well.
It's always great to have family members around just to feel that support and love.
Q. What are you and Martin working on?
LEXI THOMPSON: Overall, just getting a few things fixed in my golf swing. Not really fixed, but just tightened up, making sure my misses aren't as big of misses and just really getting more consistent with it.
But nothing too technical. He's great with me. He knows I'm not technical at all. It's more of a feel oriented swing.
So he gives me a few key little points and feels, and we work from there.
Q. Talking to Nelly earlier, she said when you've got fairways this wide it's just a little easier to freewheel it. You can go at it a little harder.
LEXI THOMPSON: Uh-huh.
Q. Do you feel like the same thing on this golf course?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I would say so. It's a little bit more forgiving off the tee for sure. I get to blast a good amount of 3-woods and drivers out there, which is always nice. It's definitely I would say a second-shot golf course with some of the greens being very tricky with the humps in the greens and making sure you leave it on the right side of the hole.
But it's in great shape for us. It's even better than last year. I think we're all just very happy to have another event in play Florida.
Q. Are you happy to be playing on bermuda, which is something you grew up on?
LEXI THOMPSON: I am. I mean, honestly I'm happy that I was able to drive to an event, happy I'm on bermuda, and just to be able to play in front of a Florida crowd or any crowd in general, honestly.
Q. How is your putting?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, it's been good. I've been working extremely hard on it and just making sure that I do my routine, really visualize those lines out there with my putts, and just commit to it.
I've felt very comfortable over my putter this week, so going to continue to work hard on it and see where it goes.
Q. Did Pitbull fire you up for the week?
LEXI THOMPSON: Oh, yeah. Every since Tuesday listening to Pitbull I haven't got him out of my head, all his songs. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. (Laughter.)
Q. Have you played where Jennifer before?
LEXI THOMPSON: Jennifer?
Q. Kupcho.
LEXI THOMPSON: I have, yeah, few times. Good player, so I'm excited.
