Quick Quotes

Q. Jennifer, the disappointing finish there at the last, but you really held your own with Lexi Thompson all day along. What was the atmosphere like out there between your group?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: It was really fun. We were both playing really well. She had obviously has a lot of fans out here and there is not many out here for me, or at least that I hear.

So it's a little bit hard to keep myself going when she's making all the putts and I can't get them to fall.

Q. What's the motivation that you lean on to be able to keep it going and put yourself in this position come Sunday?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: I'm just really competitive. I always have been, and I think that's the biggest thing. Yeah.

Q. You've had five Top 10s this season; putting yourself in position. What do you feel like you learned from those that can help you here tomorrow?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: Just to do what I can and control what I can control. I can't control what everyone else is doing, so I think that's the biggest thing I've learned the couple times that I been in really close contention.

Q. Another good round today. I know it wasn't the way you wanted to finish. How do you feel about your third round here at Pelican Women's Championship?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: I mean, I played really well. Didn't hit the ball quite as well today and didn't make quite a many putts, but, I mean, in relation to the scores I shot last couple days, it's pretty much the same.

So pretty proud of myself.

Q. What have you been working on to build the consistency to put yourself in a position that you've been before? You've had five Top 10s this year.

JENNIFER KUPCHO: Nothing really specifically. Just relax and go play. Really just being out here the couple of years that I have been it's turned more into a job.

So I think recently this year just making it more fun instead of so much a job.

Q. How do you go about doing that? Do you try and get more aggressive? Do you and your caddie talk a little more on the course? What do you to make it a little bit more enjoyable for yourself?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, I mean, obviously playing well makes it a lot more fun, but I think just practicing quick and to the point instead of so much all the time, I think that's been the big thing for me the last couple weeks.

Q. Again, not an unfamiliar position for you. Five Top 10s this year. What are some good vibes, good juju you're taking with you into tomorrow in contention on Sunday?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: My ball striking this year has been really good, and, I mean, all year I've been hitting it really well. The second tournament of the year I took second, so to know that I can still do it is exciting.

Q. You said you were playing with Lexi and the hometown crowd, hometown girl.

JENNIFER KUPCHO: For sure.

Q. How do you feed off that electricity in a group you're going to have a lot of it tomorrow?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, I mean, they're both from Florida, so, I mean, I just go out there -- being from Colorado I hardly ever have hometown fans so I'm pretty used to it not having a tournament anywhere there.

So just relax. And, I mean, they make a lot of putts, so you still hear the cheers.

Q. So do you kind of feed off that good energy?

JENNIFER KUPCHO: Oh, yeah, for sure.
