Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Lexi Thompson after her second round at the Pelican Women's Championship. Take us through some of the highlights of your round today and maybe what was different from today and yesterday.

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I would say overall, I mean, another steady day. Maybe not as exciting as yesterday with all the birdies and eagle there, but I played consistent golf. Just tried to stay in the moment.

There was a few pins out there that were tucked a little bit more than yesterday's that I wasn't as comfortable with, but I just kind of hit away from them and had about 20-, 25-footers.

But gave myself looks, and that's all I can do. I don't know. We'll see what tomorrow brings and go into it with the same attitude I did the last two days and try to make birdies.

Q. You've been in this spot at this course before kind of heading into Sunday. How does that experience help you navigate the final day, final crunch of the 18 holes?

LEXI THOMPSON: I think every experience helps. Every time I tee it up there is always something to be learned. But I do love this golf course. It's always in great shape for us. The last two days have been absolutely perfect weather.

I don't know what tomorrow has in store, but hopefully the same. Yeah, I'll learn from last year. I played some amazing golf. Wasn't the outcome I wanted, but I learned from it, built off it, and took the positives from it that I played really well that whole week.

We'll take that into tomorrow and see.

Q. What in your game the last two days gives you a lot of confidence for tomorrow?

LEXI THOMPSON: I would say overall just the consistency of it. I've been working a lot on my ball striking, but at the same time, a lot on my short game, my putting as well. I've been putting hours in on the putting green doing my drills and getting more and more confident.

It's nice to see the hard work pay off. I would say the consistency. Golf can be such an up-and-down game, so it's nice to have the consistency in it.

Q. You have an interesting mix on the board. Couple rookies up there. As one of the experienced names on that board, where does that play as far as a role tomorrow?

LEXI THOMPSON: I think, yes, experience helps, but at the same time, golf is such a crazy game. Anybody can have their days out there and can bring their A game.

That's what you never know about it. Every day can be different. There are so many great players out here. You have to play your top-notch game every time you tee it up and you have to make birdies and shoot low, especially if the weather is going to be nice.

I'm sure they'll tuck a few pins and make it a little bit more difficult for a Sunday round. Have to take advantage of the easier holes I guess and make some birdies and see where that goes.

Q. Also maybe a little bit of rain tomorrow. Does that change the game plan at all?

LEXI THOMPSON: I didn't know about that, but, no, just pack my rain gear I guess. I'll have to see. Got to play with the conditions that we get.
