Q. All right, joined now by Gemma Dryburgh here at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. 5-under on your opening round here. What went into the round?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I hit it really well today. Only a couple bogeys out there. The greens were quick so kind of managed that well.
Had a hole-in-one on 12. It was like an inch away from going in, so that was probably the highlight of day.
Q. Almost got that Lamborghini.
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it was close.
Q. Had a nice stretch there 4 to 9. Bogeys and a lot of birdies. What went into that up and downess right there?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it was -- I mean, kind of got the putts rolling. Hit it kind of close and then had that one bogey on 8; just one bad drive.
Apart from that was pretty solid. I think I only missed a couple greens. Just hit it really well tee to green today.
Q. And then to finish off bogey-free on the back, how much confidence does that give you heading into tomorrow's round?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, yeah, nice to get a birdie on 17 there and then almost made birdie on 18. Had a nice chance at it. Nice confidence going into tomorrow.
Be nice to get out there early.
Q. And then knowing you are just on the outside of that top 60, how much of a motivation is that this week to try and play your way into next week?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it is a huge motivation. Obviously I can't control what the other girls do. I can control what I do. I will just focus on that the next few days. I know I need a good finish to get into next week, but you never know.
Q. We've had a couple players in the same situation say it's a little bit freeing knowing you're coming in knowing this might be the last one of the year but also if you play well... Do you share that sentiment, knowing you just give it your all, whatever happens, happens?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I think obviously playing at CME is a great bonus. I've been able to play the last couple years and I would love to be there again. But if this is my final week of the season, pretty nice way to finish and nice place to finish.
Q. What is it about this course that brings out some of your strengths?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I think I usually play quite well on fast greens. I usually kind of like to die the ball into the hole, so the fast greens kind of suit me.
Yeah, I think just good memories coming here last couple years. My parents are here as well. So nice to have the family here, too.
