Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Angel Yin after her third round at the CME Group Tour Championship. Still in the lead heading to the final day. How are you feeling about your third round today?

ANGEL YIN: Felt good. I mean, the course, honestly I think is playing pretty tough, so happy with my score. I'm scoring still. Making some mistakes, but saving a bunch, so a lot of positives.

Q. Big eagle there on 6 for the scorecard. Talk me through that one.

ANGEL YIN: Yeah, chipping has been really tough in the afternoon the last two days, because when the grain is quite burned out it doesn't really grab or do what it's supposed to like in the morning with the wetness in the morning as well.

So I just knew where I needed to chip. I had a good line on it and just dribbled in.

Q. In this stretch made three other birdies and a bogey there. How do you stay focused when you are feeling a bit like a roller coaster out there?

ANGEL YIN: I just knew I had to keep grinding it out and I needed to trust what I'm good at, and that was it. Got a little rough, but it was good.

Q. I know you tend to be a strong putter. What's been like clicking for you this week? You knocked in some long putts?

ANGEL YIN: Just green reading. My putting coach, Gareth, he goes, if you don't make the putt you misread it. It's true. And then Michelle has been helping out, my caddie, has been helping out my reads. With both our reads it's been really helpful.

Q. How have you managed to make your way around with the grain? I think that's always the trickiest thing on bermuda.

ANGEL YIN: I've just been relying on Michelle, but she's been teaching me a lot, so hopefully I can take something away and not always rely on her.

It's quite different and it's difficult.

Q. How did the partnership with Michelle come about? Are you relying on her more for green reading that previous caddies?

ANGEL YIN: Well, actually, yeah, so she texted me a few weeks ago. I've been bouncing around with caddies and stuff, and -- Michelle, stop.

Anyway, I've been just -- I don't know even know -- ask me again.

Q. Michelle, how did the partnership come about?

ANGEL YIN: Oh, yeah, so she texted me a few weeks ago because I've been bouncing around and then she said she really liked the greens, so that kind of lingered in my brain a little bit ever since she texted me that.

Coming into this week I struggled last week and I told Carrie (phonetic) on Sunday, I think I really need someone who's going to be good at reading the greens. She was like, yeah, totally get it.

So on Sunday I was texted her and she actually was caddieing. I didn't know she was caddieing. I was like, hey, you think you can carry next week? She goes, yeah. That was it.

Q. So the second question is are you relying on her more on the greens than you typically would with a caddie?

ANGEL YIN: Yes, 100%.

Q. How do you feel about the fan support and how does it help you?

ANGEL YIN: I think the fan support is awesome. I think that's -- because of them, this is where I'm at right now. 100%. Yeah!
