Q. Brooke, 4-under 68 today. I know it wasn't the finish you wanted, but still a solid day with a lot of birdies on the card. Just take us through your round.
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, started really well. Hitting the ball really well and giving myself a lot of great looks, which is always a lot of fun.
Unfortunately didn't capitalize coming in as well as I would've liked, but all in all 4-under is a solid day. Climbed up the leaderboard a little bit I think, and if I can just continue the way I'm playing over the in next few days then I think I'll be right in it.
Q. You're still in the mix. What's the game plan? Are you more of a try to make as many birdies as possible, or more of a stay conservative in specific areas?
BROOKE HENDERSON: This course is kind of tricky. There are some holes you can definitely chase, but you have to pay attention to the slopes. You don't want to end up in certain places.
Playing alongside celebrities, too, you really can see them sometimes get into those slopes. Oh, you really don't want to be down there. It's a good reminder.
So I think just take it hole by hole, and when you can take advantage do so. Otherwise just play smart.
Q. Have you gotten longer in the last couple months? I'm listening to the clubs and the yardages and I'm like, oh, that seems different.
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I gained a few yards mainly because of the new ball.
Q. Oh, okay.
BROOKE HENDERSON: I tried to gain some strength too, but noticed right away using a different ball I gained a few yards on all clubs, so it's exciting.
Q. As far as Lake Nona goes, did you play here at Gainbridge last year, and what differences have you noticed between the course?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think playing in January versus March is a little bit different. It's always in incredible condition and it's a lot of fun to be here.
Growing up I always heard about Lake Nona and how all the great players play out of here, so it's fun to see and use they're practice facilities and also get to play a round here. It's been really cool. Hopefully I can finish off strong on the weekend.
Q. I hate to say this weekend is going to be cold to a Canadian, but looks like the weather is going to change a little bit. How is that going to factor into your game plan for the weekend?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I think a little bit -- some of the holes will play a little bit differently off the tee. Might have to take slightly different lines because you can't carry it quite as far in the cold weather.
I'm used to Florida weather now, so I'll probably be really cold this weekend too. Back home it's minus 28 or something celsius, so I kind of lost my Canadian genes a little bit.
For the most part I generally play well when it's cool and windy, so hopefully be able to climb up the leaderboard.
Q. Getting the year kicked off like this, how much does having success at this kind of tournament set you up for the rest of the year?
BROOKE HENDERSON: I love this event. It's so much fun to play with the celebrities. Just a great way to start the season. A little bit more laid back and only 30 LPGA girls, so if you play well you can finish near the top of leaderboard, which is pretty cool.
I just love it and I look forward to it every year.
