THE MODERATOR: Here with Maja Stark after a third round 68. How are you feeling walking off the course after day 3?
MAJA STARK: I actually told my caddie I was a little bit surprised that it went that well because I don't think I hit one straight iron shot today. Yeah, it was pretty frustrating at times because when I tried to not miss it left, I would miss it right. But my putting was better, and I took advantage of some par-5s. So yeah, better.
Q. You did have a couple instances yesterday talking about kind of the work you've been putting in in your putting. What did you see from your putting today?
MAJA STARK: I haven't really walked through it. I think it was pretty average, but I do notice that I'm a bit more confident on the greens, especially with the shorter putts. Yeah, overall happy with my putting.
Q. Can you walk us through the two back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15?
MAJA STARK: Yeah, so they moved up the tees on 14, so I just had a 3-wood into the green. Hit that in the greenside bunker, and then hit it up to two feet, made that.
Then I almost hit it out-of-bounds on 15. I didn't know that I couldn't go that far right. But it was fine. Then just hit a lay-up, not a great shot into the green, but managed to make like almost a 30-footer. No, not a 30-footer, 16-footer.
Q. Is this a golf course where you can get at some par-5s and kind of chase on a final day like tomorrow?
MAJA STARK: Yeah, I think so. I like to play aggressively all the time because that's what I've been taught is the right thing to do, and when you've got it some weeks, then you're going to shoot minus 10. You win more by playing aggressively than you lose by playing aggressively.
Yeah, I think tomorrow I'm just going to stay with the same mentality. I've been pretty defensive on my approach shots just because there are so many little runoff areas, but I feel like I haven't really been in terrible spots these past couple days. I've been pretty happy with my strategy.
Q. You talk a little bit about the chase. There's been a couple times that you were chasing over on the LET. What will you take from those experiences as you put yourself in a good chance for tomorrow?
MAJA STARK: That anything can happen. I think with my putting, I think I can make more putts now. I think I have the potential, I guess, to make more putts. I just have to get my irons to be a little bit sharper, and then yeah, I think anything is possible. Shooting minus 10 would help. Hopefully that would be enough.
