Q. Brooke, you went wire to wire to win one of your favorite events on tour, one you wanted to win for years. What does it mean to you?
BROOKE HENDERSON: It's amazing. This week is unbelievable. The atmosphere is so much fun playing alongside the celebrities and all the fans that come out. A lot of Canadians out here, too, so just an incredible week.
Great way to start the new year.
Q. Great way to start, winning the first event of the year after all you dealt with in the off-season, having your wisdom teeth taken out, dealing with the back pain, and changing out your equipment. What do you feel like you learned about yourself over the last few months?
BROOKE HENDERSON: There definitely was a lot of patience involved, especially early on in the off-season. But, a lot of big changes, a lot of things, but it couldn't have worked out any better.
And my grandma, last couple weeks has shown a lot of strength and courage, and I just wanted to try to be like her this week, so I'm happy to get my 13th victory on tour.
Q. (Regarding getting a win so early in the season.)
BROOKE HENDERSON: You know, it is so exciting. I always try to win a couple time each year, so to get one right way out of the gate takes a little bit of pressure off.
I just love playing out here on the LPGA against the best in the world every week. It's exciting to be in contention and even more exciting to hoist trophies.
