Q. Here with Cheyenne Knight after her final round here at Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Just talk about your round today especially the three in in a row birdies on the back nine.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Yeah, this is such an awesome week. Hilton just having the Tournament of Champions and us get to go play with all the celebrities and amateurs, it's a lot of fun.
Yeah, today I just putted really well. Hit it about the same as I have every other day. It was playing hard today, colder, windier.
Yeah, made a lot of good putts. I bogeyed 13 but made a good 15-footer on 14.
15 I got close by the green in two.
16 made about a 30-footer so it was nice.
Q. Talk about this week a little bit more. I mean, in the sense of the atmosphere, fans, celebrity aspect, but even just yourself. You finally got that first round of golf out of the way. How are you feeling? Encapsulate this week for us.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Yeah, no, it's the first event of the year so I feel like a lot of people are kind of knocking the rust off in a way and kind of no expectations.
But, yeah, it's kind of a relaxed environment just playing with different people and, yeah, I think there is definitely things I can work on and definitely rusty.
But, yeah, it was nice to kind of put a few good rounds together and just take it into next week.
Q. You made a nice jump today. Did you see today as a nice opportunity to make that run on the board?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: You know, I didn't know -- I feel like it was so cold this morning and windy I didn't know how the course was going to be playing. I thought around even you might move up the board a little bit.
It got nice out there, and, yeah, I saw kind of on I guess 17 where I was and how well Lydia is playing. I think it was playing really hard. Definitely some birdie holes, especially the par-5s.
But, yeah, I think I didn't really see -- I didn't have any expectations with my round, but it was nice to kind of get a low one. I just made a lot of putts today.
Q. Good deal for the tour if Lydia is a winning again?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: For sure. Lydia is a class act. I know she had an off year last year but I played at Grant Thornton and she won that and she's awesome. I'm happy for her.
Everyone goes through ups and downs a little bit.
Q. What impressed you most about her game?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: I think she's so solid. There is not really a weakness. I feel like on this tour, if you don't have a weakness you're going to be in the mix every week. She is just such a great person overall and really puts golf in perspective.
But, yeah, so I mean, great short game, putter, but hits the ball good, too.
Q. And finally, any Larry the Cable Guy highlights?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Oh, my gosh. He was kind of struggling a little bit today. He was so much fun. Yeah, just hearing about how he made it, started in theatres and went to arenas and started selling those out. He's got to go back to Lincoln, Nebraska tonight.
He struggled but we had a lot of fun.
Q. One last one from me. Obviously got another win under your best last year, Solheim Cup. What momentum will you take from last year to this year, and some goals for 2024?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Yeah, last year was a solid year. Definitely it kind of -- I think just like it's always good to put yourself in those positions, being in contention, Solheim Cup, like just being under that pressure.
Just like kind of training your mind how to respond to that. Going into this year I want to be in the mix, want to feel like the nerves and the pressure.
And goals this year, just get better every day. I would love to be on Solheim Cup again. It's the things that you do kind of each day before that that kind of makes up for it.
Q. Lilia as Player of the Year, first time an American has done that since 2014.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Uh-huh.
Q. As you look across the landscape are you encouraged by American golf?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Yeah, I mean, Lilia is an amazing player. We are the same age. When she was at UCLA and I was Alabama, we were the same age, and she's an amazing player, great person.
There is so much depth on this tour and I think American golf is in a great spot. But you look at -- I mean, everyone is just a great player. It's whoever is kind of on that week. There is just a lot of depth.
I think as like the American kind of girls out here, we want to win a Solheim Cup. I think whoever is on the team this year, I think like that's like one of the main goals is get the Cup back and get that momentum back in our favor.
