Q. All right, very pleased to be joined by Hannah Green after her first round at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Where do we start? How was it teeing it up here for the first time in 2025?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, it's nice. Hit a couple.
Shots out there that weren't great. I feel like that's what happens when you take six, seven weeks without playing a proper competition.
Yeah, been really nice to get back into competitive golf. I felt like I had a really nice off-season so nice to be back in the sunny Florida.
Q. And then another first, first time teeing up at this event. How has it been this week?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, it's been really cool. Yes, being my first time I've seen things on social media about all the athletes and celebrities that come and play. To be here is a lot of fun. We get really looked after.
Today I played with Mike and Robin. They were really fun to play with. Yeah, looking forward to see who I get paired with throughout the week.
Q. Obviously had a fantastic season last year. Three wins, Olympics. What are you going to take from last year and I guess maybe this offseason have you had time to reflect and pinpoint a highlight of last year?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I think the Olympics is probably the coolest experience from last year even though I didn't win that. Yes, it was nice to have three tournament wins, but the crowds we played in front of were probably the best I've ever played in front of. That was also fun, wearing green and gold ask having my team around me.
2024 was such a good year. I felt like I somewhat flew under the radar a little bit. I'm looking forward to coming to some events and defending and hopefully not putting too much pressure on myself. I'm still hungry to get more trophies in my cabinet.
Q. You went off the back. Looked like on your 9th hole, the 18th, you flipped the switch. What was it that got you going after that?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I felt like I haven't played a lot of tournament golf. I wasn't quite at the same club head speed as I'm used to. I think because it was a little bit chillier than what I've been experiencing in Australia, I wasn't really sure how far the ball was traveling.
Once the sun came out, I finally took my jumper off, I felt like I could swing a bit more freely and know how far the ball was going.
I also rolled in a couple really nice putts, so that was also helpful.
Q. Of course this is the first event of the 75the Anniversary season of the LPGA. What does that history mean to you?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, it's hard to believe that it's 75 years already. You know, thank to those 13 people that helped us have a Tour and actually have a living. In Australia I wish I could play at home, but we unfortunately don't have enough events to be able to do that.
Yeah, playing out here on the LPGA, in my opinion the best Tour in the word, it's really special. It's great that we get to celebrate the entire year.
Q. Are there any tournaments you're looking forward in to particular this year?
HANNAH GREEN: Probably going back to Singapore. That's an event I played well at. Also the JM Eagle Championship. I'll be going for a three-peat with a changed venue this year, so I feel like it will be a little bit different defending, but I am looking forward to a lot of the major championships. We're playing a lot of really top courses this year. Always enjoy playing those.
I am looking forward to 2025.
Q. Are you happy with your start? All players say we left a few shots out there.
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah.
Q. Are you happy?
HANNAH GREEN: I think I got a lot out of my round. I did make a couple bogeys, but felt like I hit some good shots and putts. Overall, just to shoot 2-under, even though I am quite far back after round one, I still feel like in a good position to have some good scores and hopefully a low weekend in some nice weather.
Q. You mentioned earlier getting to wear the yellow and gold and green. An International Crown year. How excited are you to not only compete with some of the great Aussies we have on Tour, but then come together and compete against those teams?
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, we had so much fun last time. In San Francisco we did really well. We were kind of an underdog team and made it through to the finals. Unfortunately Thailand were just too good for us.
We have so many young Aussies on Tour and I think we have the most on Tour that are at least competitive, so it's great to see that. It will be interesting to see who makes the last couple spots.
Yeah, Korea always have amazing fans. Going to be hard to play against Korea that week. I'm looking forward to getting back there.
