Q. All right we're excited to welcome Mike Flaskey into the media center. Mike, you're sitting atop the leaderboard today. How does it feel to be out there and in this position?
MIKE FLASKEY: Well, I got to tell you, first off, it feels great just to be here. I want to say thank you to Mark Wang and Aaron Stewart and the team at Hilton Grand Vacations for allowing me to come back and compete in the celebrity division of this event that is so near and dear to my heart.
I'm thankful to be here. I played okay today. Unfortunately there was a little mistake on the leaderboard. I am definitely not the leader in the clubhouse. They're sorting through that now. I had a great time and I did play well.
Q. You have a very unique background with this tournament. What's it like to see where it began and also see where it is today?
MIKE FLASKEY: Incredible. I mean, it makes me so proud. It's my favorite week of the year. You know, to see the way that Hilton has embraced the LPGA and continues to grow this thing and make it bigger and better.
I mean, as some of you know, this started 10 or 11 years as the Brian Gay Invitational and the Diamond Resorts Invitational and then Mike Whan and I came together it became the Tournament of Champions. He and I did the deal to give the LPGA the rightful place they should have every year in their schedule of honoring their winners.
Hilton has just taken it to the next level. As I said, I'm honored to get to come back and watch it and see it grow and get to play and not have to worry about organizing it.
Q. In terms of looking ahead over the next three days, there is a lot of golf to be played. What's something from today's round that you're going to take with you for the rest of your life?
MIKE FLASKEY: Yeah, so I had the privilege today of playing with Hannah Green. She was remarkable. You know, watching her and her composure and when she hits a bad shot, how she didn't let that continue through her round. Really was able to just shake it off and live in the present.
I think there is an opportunity for all of us amateurs to do a better job of leaving the bad shots behind us and focusing on the next shot and staying in the moment.
