Q. All right, Akaya, to end the day under par, how did you make it through this round three?
AYAKA FURUE: I was able to really read the wind and just be able to do my game.
Q. How did you prepare for today's round? Did you prepare any differently knowing that the winds would be gusting like this?
AYAKA FURUE: Nothing. (Laughter.)
Q. Nothing different?
AYAKA FURUE: Nothing particular, no.
Q. Have you ever played in windy conditions before?
AYAKA FURUE: Yes.
Q. Where?
AYAKA FURUE: U.S. Open.
Q. In 2020?
AYAKA FURUE: Yeah. Yeah, 2020 U.S. Open.
Q. Did you remember what it was like playing in those winds helping you out today you think?
AYAKA FURUE: I don't remember much about it.
Q. How satisfied are you with your play after an impressive day like this in these winds?
AYAKA FURUE: I think I'm really, really happy that I was able play my game in this strong wind and get this result.
Q. You birdied 2 and 3. Take me through those opening birdies, and how important was it get started on a hot start like that?
AYAKA FURUE: I think those two birdies really helped me continue on to keep playing my round and just keep going. If I didn't have those, I don't think it would've been easy.
Q. Three rounds down as an LPGA Tour rookie. How has your first event felt so far?
AYAKA FURUE: I think I'm really being able to enjoy myself.
Q. What do you like most about being here in Boca and being a rookie on the LPGA Tour?
AYAKA FURUE: It's just being able to be here is the main thing that really makes me happy. Yeah.
