Q. All right, back again towards the top of the leaderboard. How do you assess your second day here in Hawai'i?
RUIXIN LIU: You know, I feel pretty satisfied today, especially playing the afternoon with the strong wind. I'm able to stay patient and not overthinking because the easiest thing to do is just try to over correct my swing during the wind. Yeah.
Q. Did you feel any differences out there with kind of the uptick of the wind?
RUIXIN LIU: You mean compared to yesterday?
Q. Yeah.
RUIXIN LIU: Yes, a lot, because there are a few holes you have to add two or three clubs even. Visually it's hard to hit that long of a club, but sometime you just have to trust it. Yeah.
Q. Which holes did you maybe approach differently today?
RUIXIN LIU: You know, par-5, hole No. 5, and I made a mistake on hole No. 7 choosing the wrong club. John told me to hit an 8 but I just feel like it's a 9 and ended up like 15 yards short; almost made a bogey.
It was a little hard mentally out there.
Q. When you do kind of get more into the rhythm, when did you feel that today?
RUIXIN LIU: I think it's after I made the birdie on 12, the par-3, because it wasn't an easy par-3 with that wind. I was able to hole -- put it like nine feet towards the hole, so I think that's kind of when I notice, hey, I kind of have some momentum going on today.
Q. And just in general, what did you take away from your play yesterday? I know obviously we talked about the differences of what this course looks like, especially in the afternoon. You'll be playing again in the afternoon tomorrow based on your score.
RUIXIN LIU: Yeah, well, I just think about just the vibe, you know, in Hawai'i. We don't want to over-stress thinking about the result too much. You know, yesterday I learned to try to cooperate with the wind instead of try to fight it. You know, that's what we are trying to do tomorrow. It might not end up as well as today, but we always try.
Q. Do you think about the times like FM Championship when you see your name towards the top of the leaderboard?
RUIXIN LIU: Well, yes or no. You know, I'm a very chill person I think, so just trying not to think about any results and even the past result when I'm playing.
But it's always hanging in the back of your mind, yeah.
Q. Yeah, sometimes it's nice to have those memories when you're getting on this course.
RUIXIN LIU: Yes, positive memory, yes.
