Ryann O'Toole

Quick Quotes

Q. All right are here with Ryann O'Toole. Definitely kept yourself in contention after the conditions definitely spiked up a little bit this afternoon. How do you assess your moving day?

RYANN O'TOOLE: Very slow. Felt like it was turtle slow. Just very uneventful the first few holes and just tried to stay patient and know there is birdies out there.

You know, trying to back up 6-under yesterday is not always easy, so sometimes you just get frustrated or expect, so I really had to make myself just take it as it came and be patient.

So I think that helped me at least get to 3-under, and keep myself in it.

Q. Is there a moment that sticks out during that round where you had to dig a little bit to keep that momentum going?

RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah. I think like when I got through like six holes and I was even I was just kind of like, seven holes even, eight holes, come on Ry, we need to make a move somewhere.

At the same time I just tried to stay patient. Knew it was out there. Tried to give myself opportunities and take it as it came.

Q. How important is it just throughout the past three days to really take advantage, especially of the scorable chances on the par-5s?

RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah, definitely the par-5s are scorable. You know, you can score so many different ways on those, so I don't think I capitalized as well as I would liked to on those today. Makes room for tomorrow.

There is also a lot of birdie chances everywhere else. There is quite a few wedge shots in and it's just waiting for the putts to drop.

So looking forward to tomorrow. I hope it's windy - windier than today.

Q. I know you like playing in the wind.

RYANN O'TOOLE: I do.

Q. You won in the wind before.

RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah.

Q. We've had a couple of the younger players out here say it to feels like Scotland; not as cold.

RYANN O'TOOLE: It's not Scotland at all. This is like nothing. Like today is mellow. When you're only adding five to ten yards max into a wind shot, that's not Scotland.

Q. Touche.

RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah.

Q. Like I said though, you have won in some windy conditions before. In general what will it take tomorrow to be as successful as possible on this course?

RYANN O'TOOLE: It'll definitely take a really good round. There is players at the top that are playing well. Nataliya seems like she's playing really well, so, you know -- A Lim as she just stuffs it over there.

So I don't think they won't show up.

You know, I think Auston and I battled it out today. She's playing great, striping it. I think it's whoever shows up and can pull the low round off.

Q. When you're in the moments of contention like you were especially at the beginning of the year in that moment that you had at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, what do you draw on when you're in those moments going into the final day?

RYANN O'TOOLE: You really have to stay in the moment. You can't get ahead. That's where I slipped a little bit, was wanting more, and you can't. The Seri Pak event I had no idea that I could even get to that position. I figured girls were going to go low and the condition were really hard, and I snuck up there, so just shows you how much staying in the moment paid off. I just have to do that tomorrow.
