Q. Here with Jenny Shin. Way to start. 6-under 66. Bogey-free out there today. Just take me through your round.
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, early birdies in the beginning. Had solid shots coming into the greens. You know, tee shots are pretty crucial here and I think I did a very good job on the front nine with that.
And, yeah, missed quite a few birdie opportunities on the back nine, but I'm pretty happy with the 6-under the first day.
Q. Obviously season debut here. I know you played last week. What were you working on in the off-season that maybe you saw pay off out here today?
JENNY SHIN: Probably just getting into a rhythm. I feel like I lacked that last year, focusing on golf swing more than playing, so I focused on playing more and, yeah, just trying to pick up momentum when I see it.
Q. When you worked on something like that, to have a round like today where you clearly were kind of in the zone, how good does that make you feel?
JENNY SHIN: It was great. You know, there are certain shots that you -- that I -- like it dial in, and when that certain club works, like rest of the round that club will work.
That was like the 7-iron for me. So I hit great 7 irons, maybe about six of them today, and all six were inside 15, 20 feet. So pretty solid.
Q. We'll take that. Golf course is playing different this year. I know last year had some weather; it was a little softer. What are the differences you've noticed this year with it being firmer?
JENNY SHIN: I actually didn't play last year because of COVID, but, yeah, maybe it is because it's firmer. I thought I am hitting it longer, but...
(Laughter.)
Q. We'll go with that.
JENNY SHIN: Yeah. Par-5s are definitely all reachable, which is a huge shock compared to the other years, so it's great.
Q. Finally, mindset heading into the rest of the week? Off to a good start.
JENNY SHIN: Keep up with what I'm doing, and, you know, keep going.
