Q. Here with Anna Nordqvist. I mean, what a start, 7-under. I know there is a little bit of a logjam at the top right now, but how proud are you of the effort so far?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I think it was a really good round. Feel like I was hitting it really solid. Had quite a few birdies like really close by. Tried to take advantage of the par-5s that I could reach, too.
Overall, feel like the course is playing maybe a little bit softer than what it's playing at its toughest. In general, like I feel like I gave myself a lot of good looks today.
Q. I guess any of those shots really stand out?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I mean, I hit a good shot in on the last. Finished on the 9th hole. About three feet from -- I can't remember how far it was, but that was a really good one. Hit 7 into.
Obviously short of the green on 1; hit a great chip there to like tap-in.
Started off hitting (indiscernible) this morning so, yeah, I feel like we left ourself on good spots, right side of the holes, so today was a fun day.
Q. What have you been working on that really helped you today to really get the ball striking where you want it?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I mean, I've been working so hard on ball striking, putting, basically everything this off-season. I didn't feel very good with the swing going into -- or playing the first event in Lake Nona, but I grinded. Ended up changing shafts on my irons a couple weeks ago and I feel like that's been helping me.
Yeah, you just try to do it all. It felt like it was a pretty short off-season having to start so early for the Tournament of Champions, but I put in a lot of hours just trying to keep my consistency. I had a good finish end of last year, so I really wanted to keep it going.
Yeah, just lots of hard work. I feel like today my irons were really good.
Q. What did you switch your shafts, from, to? What are you using now?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I mean, I had -- I think I played two or three different iron shafts last year, which is not ideal.
I feel like it was a little heavy shaft last year so wanted to go lighter, but this lighter shaft came out like dead right, on top of not swinging great. So been working with a KBS guys in Arizona, so that is new KBS shaft, and seems to be feeling better than what the other shaft has in the past.
