Q. Here with Ashleigh Buhai. 6-under today. Really cranked up the dial on this moving day. Had a heck of a back nine. Walk me through that seven, eight hole stretch there.
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, got off to a slow start, and then from my sixth hole just found my rhythm a little bit. My goal was to turn under par, managed to get under par, and then, yeah, just found the rhythm.
Then, yeah, made a bunch of birdies coming in. Hit some really good shots. But the putter, too.
Q. When you're in one of those stretches, what's going through your head? I know it wasn't the fastest start on the front nine, so what maybe switched? How do you switch your thinking heading into the back nine?
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, I feel like I'm swinging it good, so the first few holes I felt like my rhythm was of bit out, so just trying to control that. Slowed it down a little bit and got me back into the swing of things.
Then just gave myself some good looks, and like I said, managed to hole the putts at least. Yeah, the pin placements I think were pretty gettable today, too.
Q. I don't think people give enough credit to how good you played last year, winning a major and another national Open at the end the season. What did that do for you? I feel like you've been a whole different player since that moment at Muirfield. How have you changed and what will you apply to 2023?
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, obviously it's a huge confidence boost, and every time you go out now, you've proven that you can do it. It was a mind switch of my game had been there for a while, and I finally get into that situation I think I'll feel a little bit more comfortable.
Obviously there is always nerves, and I felt that a little bit on Thursday even, just trying to get back into the swing of things. But just trying to stay calm and play from like the calm position instead of like up here and on edge.
It always helps. That's where I play my best at.
Q. So just heading into Sunday, in that position again, you're chase this time; going to be a few back. There is a lot of the low numbers out here. What's the mindset?
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, you know, to have a chance to win I'll probably have to shoot 9-under, so tomorrow I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing. If I can just keep within my rhythm and give myself good chances, hopefully we can shoot another few under tomorrow.
This has always been a low-scoring course, so it's going to be very difficult to chase. I know that. Hopefully just go out with the same mindset and put a good score up and have the best finish I can.
