Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Nanna, welcome back to a place that I know has some really nice memories for you. What's it like to be back here in Thailand?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: It's always nice coming back. Last year was really special coming back and this year is like -- it's still really cool and you still remember all the shots and I'm still talking to my caddie, this is where I did this.

But, yeah, it's always cool coming back.

Q. What was the game plan go into today's round? The rough is a little bit longer compared to past years. What did you see in the course today?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I still know you have to shoot really low out here. Soft greens and really true greens. I have a benefit on the par-5. I can go for all of them.

So I mean, I was trying to just stay happy out there and not get to emotional. It went okay. I had one hole, but 17 good ones.

Q. How crucial is it to take advantage of the par-5s out here this week?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: It means a lot. You have four par-5s that you can go for it, and it's actually good eagle chances too. They can really turn around the whole game if you get a good couple there.

Also the other holes. You can pretty much hit it close anywhere, so just got to hit it close and make some putts.

Q. What would you call the most memorable birdie of the day?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I don't know, the one I made on 18 came on a good spot. Just made two bogeys, so that kind of started a little run on three birdies after that. Yeah, made the one on 18.

Q. What did you do to reset? You talked about staying happy. I know you worked a lot on that in the past couple years. What you do to reset after the bogeys?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Right now my goal is just to smile. If you smile it's really hard to be angry. When I do something not so good I'll try to smile, like literally smile.

Q. Great strategy there. Just being back in Thailand and here, this is a very gettable course. You talk about the par-5s. What is it about going low here or this course that has suited your game over the last couple years?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I think I'm a good putter. And when I'm good with my driver this course suits me very well. So, yeah, I guess that's why I like this one.

Q. What are you taking away from today that you want to improve upon going into tomorrow?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I was actually nervous come into this round about my putter. I think I rolled a couple really nice putts out there, so just want to trust it a little bit more tomorrow. I was really happy how I was putting today. Not that I made too many, but I was putting better than I expected. I just need to work a little bit on my driver, bit it's still okay.
