Patty Tavatanakit

Quick Quotes

Q. Patty, when it comes to kind of being able to reset so quickly after that bogey on 1, what did that mean to you and how do you kind of put No. 1 out of your mind?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I didn't really think much about it. Just another hole. You know, I had four good shots I feel like and just doesn't end up being the result I wanted.

If anything it's all about the mindset and just going out there and give yourself more opportunities.

Q. Like you said on TV, being able to take advantage of the rest of the par-5s, what were those birdie looks like for you and what was working so well for you?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, they moved it up quite a bit so I was able to take advantage of that. I had like two 8-irons into the par-5s and it's basically a par-4 for me.

Yeah, I was able to take advantage of that, and, yeah.

Q. You are allowed to brag about your distance because it is a great part of your game. How much does that come into play on a course like this that can be more gettable for you then?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, for sure. I feel like every year -- not every year -- especially this year the course plays a lot shorter than what it was just because of my length. It got a little bit more on the positive side.

But if anything golf is just as hard. Everyone out here is really good, so I still need to go out there and pace myself.

Q. To be able to close with a birdie on 18 today, to be able to kind of finish off right up there on the leaderboard for the second straight week, I know you're really prioritizing just relaxing and not necessarily over exerting the energy. What would you do between today and tomorrow?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Just rest. I have a couple plans, dinner with some friends, and ideally just reserve as much energy as I can and use it on the course.

Q. What is it like when you know you have maybe some other things off the course --

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah.

Q. -- because this is the Thailand tournament?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, it is. There is a lot of obligations so far this week. I feel like I didn't really have time to prepare, but I came into this week with an open mindset of like learning this position that I'm in coming into a home event, being last week's champion. There is a lot of pressure, but I can look at it as an encouragement for me to feel happy to play in front of my fans.
