Q. This will be your first appearance at Kingsmill Resort for the Pure Silk Championship. How do you like the River Course and the area of Williamsburg, Virginia?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: It is a really pretty course, but it also is a tough course to compete. Narrow aiming spots every shots, lots of water hazards, and firm greens.
I think I need more accurate shots to be on the top of the leaderboard. Williamsburg is one of towns I would love to live after my retirement. It is very quiet here and I love a beautiful view of areas.
Q. As you continue to work toward full LPGA Tour membership, what are your goals for the tournament this week?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: I understand that I need to earn the CME points to get a full LPGA Tour membership, but the most important thing for me right now is to compete four days through the weekend. I am focusing on what I need to work on my game.
Q. You will be making another major appearance in a couple weeks at the U.S. Women's Open in San Francisco. Have your recent competitions - Singapore, Thailand and now here at Kingsmill - prepared your game into major championship form?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: My game is getting better each and every day, so I’m just going to keep up my swing and get ready for another major in two weeks.
Q. The more you compete in LPGA Tour events, do you become more excited to be on the LPGA Tour full time and compete weekly against the world's best?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: I’ve been asked this question every week. More great experience and more excited every week I compete in LPGA around the world.
