Q. All right, here with Madelene Sagstrom off her first round here in Texas. Obviously biggest challenge today was the wind. How happy are you just to have that 2-under score knowing all the scores are high today?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: I mean, it was tricky. Came out and it was blowing a lot harder than I thought it would do all week. Had to make some adjustments, really commit to the game plan and commit to the way I was striking it.
So it was tricky, but I got some momentum going. Like we had a good group. Everyone shot under par, so it was -- it's nice when people are playing easy, steady golf to get in some momentum, too.
Q. What were some of those adjustments you made for today?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: I struggled a little bit hitting the ball last week so we kind of, Shane, and I decided to commit to one ball flight, just take the different lines. Just not try and fight it go up and play with the wind and not trying to fight the wind.
That's what we said, just had to make some, okay let's go really far right here or just stuff like that. It was just that commitment.
Q. I know I saw a couple bogeys on the scorecard, but is it easier to stay patient with those knowing the wind cause or how do you stay patient and move on from those?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: Some of the par-3s, some of the greens get really narrow here. Unless you have a perfect number it gets quite hard to figure out how do you get even on the green or close to this pin.
So I had a couple where I committed to a shot that was kind of borderline and decided I'm better off short here, better off long here, so I missed few of those, kind of some off numbers.
So didn't really get up and down. Short game was letting me down a little bit. Then I also had some shots where I was like, this is perfect. I think you have to take it for what it is. It's windy, but I know I can make birdie so I just had to stay patient.
