Q. Okay, bogey-free. When you can avoid mistakes on a course like this and kind of keep yourself in the hunt, how good does that feel and how important is that?
JESSICA KORDA: It was nice. I had a really great group today playing with one of my best friends in Ally, so we had fun. A lot of trash talking obviously.
We all played really well, so I think it just kept us motivated. I had no idea what I shot.
Q. Five birdies, so a solid round. Your sister is obviously right near the top as well. You guys continue to be both right near the top. You know her better than anybody. How do you chase down sister on a Sunday?
JESSICA KORDA: Let's see, I don't know. Honestly, just like anybody else, to be honest with you. Out here the greens are slow so it's just trying to get the putts to the hole. That's kind of it. I think a lot of us out on the golf course are leaving a lot of putts center and a little short so gets a little frustrating.
So just keeping your cool and keep trying to give yourself as many opportunities as possible. They tucked a lot of pins.
Q. They always do.
JESSICA KORDA: Really big greens and they tuck them, so definitely makes it really difficult.
Q. Did the rain change the speed of them?
JESSICA KORDA: Last two holes. It's a lot softer. Ball flew no where compared to before. It might change. Might not. It got cooler, too.
Yeah, a little bit slower and they're going to get bumpier because there is going to be a little bit more moisture on them.
Q. Uh-huh, throughout the rest of the day.
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah, definitely softer than yesterday. I spun back a bunch of stuff that I didn't even sniff spin before.
Q. Really?
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah.
Q. You've seen this course plenty over the years. When you can score low, we've seen 10-under out here, and you can be in a position like you're in, have you seen a number like that out here this week?
JESSICA KORDA: I mean, I played with Leona, two bogeys yesterday and shot 8-under. That was a serious display. Yeah, it's definitely out there.
It's just you got to get the ball in the hole. That's the key.
Q. Way too much, it seems like sometimes. You feel like your game is at a point where it could do that?
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah, it's trending I think every day a little bit better. Struggled with my swing a little bit in the off week. Just trying to figure it out every day.
Q. When there is a major next week and obviously potential to climb the leaderboard here and make a run on a Sunday, is there more emphasis on keeping the game intact heading into a major instead of giving too much chase and doing things you might not normally do?
JESSICA KORDA: I mean, I take every day as a new day. I'm just trying to conserve as much energy. Next week is going to be long with all the rain delays we're going to 100% have. It's Atlanta in the summer. I'm from Florida. You know what that looks like in the summer.
Just trying to conserve as much energy and just one shot at a time.
