Q. Okay, here with Cassie Porter after the second round of the Meijer LPGA Classic. 2-under 70 today coming off a 4-under round yesterday. Talk about the differences between yesterday and today.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I think playing in the afternoon today was definitely different conditions, a little bit more gusty, bit more breeze, so the course is playing a little bit more tricky.
But it was great. The course is really awesome. It handles all the weather really well, so it was fun out there.
Q. Kind of talk about that a little bit. Looks like a low number of fairways hit and you were still able to make birdies and shoot under par. Why do you think that is?
CASSIE PORTER: The rough out here is really thick and it really humbles you hitting it in the rough a lot and just keeps you grounded being like, hey, what do I need to do? Just hit a green, try and one putt, two putt to get out of it.
That's what we focused on today. When you hit a fairway, capitalize on that.
Q. A lot of Aussies near the top of the leaderboard this week. I think five in the top 15. How cool is that?
CASSIE PORTER: It's awesome. I love seeing the Australian flag at the top, and it's nice to be able to join the girls.
Q. Almost a year ago today got your first win on the Epson Tour in Michigan.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah.
Q. What is it about the state that brings out your best golf?
CASSIE PORTER: The golf here is amazing. It's so pretty, and I have a really great host family up here that come and support me when I'm in Michigan.
Feels a little bit like home if you will. It's a long way from Sydney, but it's a little bit more like home, so it's really nice.
Q. Obviously how well the Australians have been doing. Like he said, has to be cool to see.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, it's great. Obviously seeing the Aussies do well is really inspiring. We all know each other really well, some of us grew up together, so being able to compete and compete against each other, it's like playing at home.
